So im about to rebuild my rustler shocks and i need to know if putting regular motor oil in them is okay are do i need to buy some silicon oil?

i usual put silicon oil in mine, i haven't ever tried motor oil but i guess it would work?

I have a rustler vxl and I always put 55 weight silicon shock oil in the back and 45 in the front. It helps a lot with hard landings.

I'm gonna try the motor oil first just to amuse Andy haha

Motor oil might be too thick.

Surprisingly the motor oil was really thin and the car is very unstable at high speeds

Make sure the motor oil won't have detergents in it that would attack your seals and other plastic/rubber parts. Motor oil is for lube and hydraulic oil is for your application.

I rebuilt my shocks after this and drove an hour and a half to get shock oil haha
