Whats the best processor around? Intel or AMD? or something else?

Both are good. If you want the best performing processor, go with Intel, if you want a cheaper but still great processor, go AMD. If you want the best of the best, go Intel i7. Hurry if you want one though, the cheapest version (920) is going to be discontinued and the i5's will come out. You will still be able to get the higher end i7's, but over $1,000 is a pretty high price.
