Ram question

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

Ram question

Post by Cummings55 »

Hello, I recently bought a stick of 4gb ram from a friend of mine. My PC takes DDR3 ram and the stick is DDR3, which makes sense. I took my old stick out because there was a high chance they would not be compatible. So, after firmly clicking it in, I got 5 beeps and no boot up. I asked him what he thought it was since he is very good with PCs, and he had no clue. Anyone have an idea why it wont boot?

Just havin' fun! Is it your only stick of RAM? Did you need to change yer BiOS settings first? Clocking and such? Read up on that stuff FIRST. lol.

You can always look up the beep codes. My guess is that the RAM is dead.

Hahah oh lord. I did read about beep codes and some said that it was a processor issue, which obviously isn't the case because im on my PC right now. I honestly have no idea what im doing when it comes to updating this, and overclocking that, so I guess for now ill just use my 2gb stick. The ram was working the last time he used it which wasn't to long ago so we are confused on whether it just shorted, or is my PC.

Because of Ram or because of Cummins?

Both. I figured Cummings was a little wordplay, and this guy had a question about his diesel truck.

It's sad for non-PC folks to find this game and fall in love with it only to be stymied by the rigors of the platform. I wish you luck Mr. Cummins Diesel. i7 with an SSD array, a Titan vid card and 32 GB RAM!

Its really not that expensive to get a computer that is capable of playing it at decent settings.

I've poured a whole lot of money into my PC and it's kind of insane how badly the game will run at times. It's terrible to think about how many people might play MXS more often if it would run more reasonably on the common affordable computer.

I mean, my PC is definitely nothing special. Dual core intel Pentium 2.8 ghz, 2 gb of ram, and a Radeon HD 6570 that I bought for 40 bucks from my friend. The card helped tremendously. Before I had to play on high fps settings and I got like 10 FPS and ran RF races. High FPS is almost enough to consider suicidal thoughts for me.
