The two games that introduced me to motorsports in general would HAVE to be Freekstyle and sledstorm for the ps2.
Freekstyle had a fun arcade feel and cool og fmx riders like the "godfather" Mike Metzger and Brian Deegan
Remember these quotes "Its me the Metz and I'm feelin freaky" and "Im Deegan and I'm the leader of the Metal Mullisha"
SledStorm was just a plain awesome snownmobile game
Quote: "Welcome to SledStorm I'm your host Kurt Baldwin, and I'm the sidekick AJ Rawlins bro"
Damn ,SOMEONE REMAKE THESE PLEASE, brings back such great memories

I was born into motosport and racing so games have been more of my "development" to my love for computers. The first game I had bike related was one for the PC that ran at 3fps, can't remember the name of it but it was Eruopean and someone from Europe had endorsed it like the pro rider. Maybe someone here knows of it. I also had things like Excitebike 64, EA Supercross 2000, Jeremy McGrath Supercross, etc. mostly consoles stuff. I also had Sledstorm though and that game was pretty awesome but I hated the shortcuts and even though I knew where each one was I didn't want to win by cheating.

Freekstyle was such a fun game... Along with that, I played a lot of MX Unleashed as a kid. MX 2002 Featuring Ricky Carmichael. MXRider (FIM game). Good times... good times.

Motorsports was in my blood before I touched PC, but I guess I got really into it with MTX Mototrax, MX vs ATV Unleashed.

As with others, my love of dirt bikes started without games (I actually had my pw50 before my family bought is first computer), but that pretty much meant I had to own any moto game I could find.
The two most "important" to me would have to be excite bike and motocross madness 2. Mm2, in my opinion, is the spiritual predecessor to mxs, and it also got me into computers in general, since I had to get a new graphics card to run it. Something "rage 2" I think the card was lol.
Good thread! It's nice to reminisce.

You all missed out on VMX. And supercross circuit. The EA SX games were way underrated too, and probably why they don't bother with anything resembling a simulation anymore.

Totes had it, was a pretty terrible game but it had bike brands out the wazoo.

Wide World of Sports got me hooked on racing. Being older than arcade games makes it easy to pick which one. How about the first one? It was nowhere but up from there.

I was born into racing and being at the track since I was super young. Games came later in life.

I missed nothing. I still have my original EA SX disc that I play with a PS1 emulator. Now who's hardcore Mr. Slides in Cirles?
I agree though. It was such a good game, with the career mode and how well the races were ran. The turning mechanic was pretty messed up but considering the time it was a really fun game with not alot to complain about.

My dad and all of his brothers had bikes since they were kids, and were big into cars too, so games weren't what got me into motorsports.
Excitebike (my cousins had an old NES that we would play all the time), and Motocross Madness (the original) were my first motocross games. The early Need for Speed, Gran Turismo, Test Drive Off Road games were my first four wheeled racing games.

Download a PS2 emulator. They're free and those is available for download. Be careful, though. Old games are a lot shittier than you honestly remember, haha. Still fun to see how bad they look because you remember them looking so good at the time.

Thx aeffertz I had no idea that was even possible I'm definitely going to have to try that, plus its awesome seeing all the cool games you, gentleman and ladies, played either to get into motorsports or continue your existing love for them.
