Whats your pc?

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

The bigger die on the 10900x with more space between cores is already an advantage. No delidding and prolly no more than 10% OC is my goal.
That isn't really true. Completely different platforms. The HEDT platform is about 10% behind in IPC from z590 and cannot keep up with clock speeds. The way you make HEDT work is high memory speeds and overclocking the core while leaving some room to run the mesh as high as possible.

Still not worried. Not gonna be a pursuer of .00002% more. I'll upgrade as time allows.

Still looking to see if this is gonna be an issue!
I have an X299-E Gaming II and i9 10900X and heard about an incompatibility with bios and 10th gen i9. Does anybody know if they solved that? I can't afford a 9th gen just to flash the bios lol.

Here's what I saw..."Warning! Some Intel X299 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Cascade Lake-X CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."
Here they are.... MoBo P.N. 90MB11A0-MOAAY0 S.N. LCMQFM144286XJ5

If it's a prebuilt that already has Windows loaded on the drive then the manufacturer has already done this step.

The CPU fits in the socket but the board was never told to read that model chip. It needs the update to be able to boot. If it's able to boot then you are good.

It's not a pre-built. I didn't see any indication of the incompatibility until I entered all the components on pc parts picker. Lucky I have a friend with a computer store!

The first thing I noticed during this mostly ROG build. Mostly. It's the properly deburred metal edges. Simple, but really makes a difference. The rest seems like silly kids stuff, but it's me! I noticed a similar higher level of engineering quality the first time I had to work on a Subaru. You appreciate engineers that have you truly in mind.

Fuckin' ROG nor Samsung equipped their setup with M.2 standoffs! I had to order a kit. I'm revolting!

I built a similar spec PC to yours, Havoc. Here's my after and before. Waiting on a new monitor to arrive before I play anything - my new GPU is only HDMI and DP out, and my monitor only does 144HZ over DVI! Might as well throw another $400 into the fire.

I got a CPU 00 code. Still stalling after tearing it back down and prolly rebuild this weekend. Too many RGB cables!

You need this for 144 Hz.

Thanks for the tip Peter! It was time for a monitor upgrade anyway, I was on a smaller 1080p screen that the new computer far outpaces. I'll keep it in mind if I ever need to go 144 on the other one again.

Yup. I really like 27" 1440P IPS monitors. I feel like it is the sweet spot now that there is really zero compromise to them. The color correction on them is the real deal.
