MX Simulator

Ok so im not really good with all this stuff so im asking the Mx sim community on this.

What would be the best pc build for around the $1200 au mark.

This would get you really far! Tried to make it now For +100$ you can get a 4790k instead of 4690k, also a few fans would be nice to add for the case. HDD and SSD aren't really anything I've researched, I just added popular ones. SSD for OS and HDD for storage.

AU? (don't know what that mean). The total is 1128$ on my screen O.o

Au = Aussie dollar cause its different from Us so sometimes it's a shock when I change it over from us to au. And I don't mind spending around 1400 if it's on something that will make it perform better.

Oh assie dollars, that makes sense. You can always cut corners in buying pc if you aren't too pick with design.

This is what I came up with, doesn't include windows for the $1200 AUD tho. Its a solid mid range build, for an extra $75 or so you can upgrade to a gtx970. Its strange your money doesn't buy as much not even just the exchange rate but on top of that I guess everything is marked up because they have to ship everything over there. Something as simple as a case costs you $20 more than the converted price from USD to AUD, kinda sucks.

Everything can be swapped out but this is a good framework to use. For example, any 1150 motherboard from a reputable brand (asrock, asus, msi, gigabyte are the main ones) in the same price range will have basically the same quality and features. The difference is the color and maybe a few little differences (even within the same manufacture) like the number and type of ports. Same can be said about the GPU, RAM (I included a single 8gb stick so you can upgrade to 16gb by adding another matching stick vs. buying 2 pairs of 4gb because it ends up being more expensive), and case although to go too cheap on the case its a lot more fun to build in a decent case. For the PSU I wouldn't go lower than the Corsair CX500M (the 600 is only like $15 more so I figured why not that will give you some breathing room to upgrade down the road) for this price point I think semi modular is a must if not full modular (this one is semi) so you don't have a ton of extra cables you have to tuck away in the case. No Optical drive included either because I hate them but add one if you have to or do what most people do and buy an external to share between all your computers since they hardly get used anymore anyways.

Personally I would say stretch your budget slightly and get the 970, its a lot more card for not that much more money IMO.

Sorry if I'm being annoying just trying to get the best value for money.

This one is the one I'd go for, but with a slight modification, and that is to add a HDD. You can do that under the options and customization tab. The 1TB HDD was +79$.

Is the HDD necessary?

Or is it ok just to get a 1Tb HDD with no SSD?

With 120GB of total memory (ssd only) isn't much. But put the os on there and you'll have a fast booting pc

I think it's better with both. CPU will have a fan and usually a case fan is included.
