reformatting windows XP

Post by Jacko447 »

recently ive been using my brothers laptop and its got a tone of virus's .. so i decided i would completly reformat it (ive never done this before)

The brand of the laptop is "IPC Multimedia", it come with no cd's .. such as driver disks or windows discs..

However ... i have a windows xp disc but its from my dell computer and has ""dell" written across it... can i use this to re-install windows back on ??

also is there anyway of pre-backing up my drivers onto a disk or something.. so i dont have to download them after??

and lastly, as i said, this is my first time doing this and dont wont to F*** it up too much... and thought i needed some advice so i come and asked u guys ;)

any tips or advice is most welcome on reformatting,
many thanks, Jacko

No. You need a real windows disc and serial number.

You can always download your drivers beforehand and burn them to disc, either way you'll have to collect them again.
