Re: GPU for Sim
My GTX 960 4g handles damn near anything. Plays DOOM wide open.
970 is a bit better, and right on your $300 limit.

Re: GPU for Sim
i have a 980 Ti and i can only sometimes play with a full gate at a national with 125 fps with the highest res download available each week. But im sure you play in 1920x1080. i play in 2560x1440. a 970 will be fine.RFX_corentin_12 wrote:hi, i want buy a new GPU, my goal is play to sim with 40 rider online, for 300$

Re: GPU for Sim
Yeah 1920x1080, or even if its not maxed, and without the highest res its okay for me, because with my gtx650, i have to play with the lowest res and with this graphics and i only had 80fps lol:Zmen36 wrote:i have a 980 Ti and i can only sometimes play with a full gate at a national with 125 fps with the highest res download available each week. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814487088 this would be my recommendation with the money you would like to spend. its a really good deal for the card. But if you wanted to save a little more and kinda future proof your GPU and get almost the performance of a 980 Ti for cheaper i would go with this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814127947.

Re: GPU for Sim
personally, i'd upgrade the cpu, and the gtx 650 in a future. with 300 you can actually buy a i5 4690k and a mobo.RFX_corentin_12 wrote:hi, i want buy a new GPU, my goal is play to sim with 40 rider online, for 300$

maybe keep your 650 again or a couple/three months and after buy a 970. with that cpu, you would bottleneck a 970.
5800x3d, 32gb DDR4 @3200MHz, RX 7900XTX, SF850 2024 in Thermaltake Tower 200. Full custom loop.

Re: GPU for Sim
I agree with Kawa.
Its a simulator and like all sim games its a bit tough to simulate thing for the CPU than it is GPU. Also, playing online with 100/10 graphics just won't happen. Doesn't matter how much money you throw the custom tracks and models aren't optimized well enough for it. I'd max at 80/8 so the LOD's cant take effect. An i5/960 4GB/8gb RAM is the ideal price/performance setup for this game, anything else you can get is just all the better.

Re: GPU for Sim
What do you think about an AMD FX-8370 or 8350 ? Not expensive in France 180€ for the 350 and 200€ for the 370. Because if i buy and Intel, i have to change the mother card and i dont had enough money for this

Re: GPU for Sim
I wouldn't recommend buying AMD CPU at this point. Its well known that its an outdated platform and they will be replaced shortly. I'd try and get an Intel platform or wait if you could.
Amazon France - $350

You could sell your CPU/RAM/MB as a kit for around ~$125 too.

On a french site, i see lot of comments (+100) about the FX 8350, and all the comments said its a really good CPU, work well in-game, for multi task even for 3dPumaxcs wrote:I wouldn't recommend buying AMD CPU at this point. Re: GPU for Sim
If its purpose built for MXS its not the best. MXS uses single core, and Intel single core performance is about double what a 8350 can do. Now because the i5 is 4 cores and the 8350 is 8 cores, if you are using a program that can use all 8 cores then yes it is the better choice simply because the performance will be close enough and the price gap pretty big. However, most games will use a max of 4 though which is why I recommend the i5.

Re: GPU for Sim
I am making it sound like its the worst thing and its not. It will differ in a few frames but nothing critical. I stand by it though that you shouldn't buy in on this generation of AMD products simply because of how outdated they are. I also price checked the last gen Intel stuff and you could reuse RAM and as you can see for the price its worth it to just get the newest. There is no sense in going broke though. Upgrade if you can, if you need it now get the best you can afford which is the 8350. If you can wait I recommend getting the i5 or waiting to see what AMD releases in a few months.
