Anyway, they were crossing over a 4 lane highway, with a 20 foot split between the lanes, and they stopped in the middle (stop sign), and when they were looking down for cars, there is a hill, and you can't see far, and there is also a guard rail, so from what I can see they could not see the car that hit them. They were driving a 97 Audi A4, and the person that hit them was in a medium sized SUV. They pulled out, and the SUV apparently hit them square between the tires. I looked at some pictures, and both rims were perfectly fine, but everything in between was crunched in past the center console.
So, from what I hear my brothers girlfriend ended up in his lap, and was apparently dead, but a EMT/Nurse was there, and did CPR to bring her back. They called 911, and a helicopter flew her to Dartmouth, which is the best hospital within 150 miles of here. She had emergency surgery, she said swelling on her brain, her head had way to much pressure, she broke her hip, and her lung collapsed. She had 8+ hours of surgery to relieve the pressure, and she made it through the surgery. Then my mom called at around 11:30 last night, and said she had passed right after the surgery was over.
Always think it's going to happen to the other guy. It's to bad. My cousin was at the scene, and he said that they didn't even bother checking out my brother, and everyone was near her. My cousin said that the guy who used the Jaws of Life to cut her out was shaking all day, and he went to a psychologist today.
So, thats really all there is, and it sucks. My brother lost the two loves of his life, his girlfriend, and his car.
