Xbox 360 wired controller problem

my 360 WIRED controller will not work anymore. wont work on my 360 or my computer. when i plug it into my computer all it says is that the device has malfunctioned. it quit working while my brother was playing with it on the 360. after a match of COD he sat the controller down and thats when i died. it still lights up whenever you pllug it in to something but thats it. i've searched and can find nothing. any ideas? im pissed lol.

It might have just went out all together. If it was just not working on the computer I would say some sort of a driver problem, but since it's not working on the 360 it might just be done.

Yeah.Also,you may want to try restarting or turning your computer off then back on.But if it's not working on the 360 either it may just be done as yzmxer said.

ya thats what i was afraid of. i tried redownloading drivers and what not but that did nothing. i then pulled it all apart and had a look and all the wires looked good. i'm sure someting went to shit in it though. guess i'll go buy another one in time for thursdays race hopefully.
