Post by Duckstream »

Hey, i need a bit help cause i dont nowdays own a mx bike, im making a sprocket and to make that i need to know what is the chain "type"
There is some types usualy something like 54B or 34B
a number and then B on the end.
IF anyone here has a chain and could see the "type" on it i would greatly be pleased.
Also if anyone has tips of how many tips on the Sprocket should i make.

Well typically, the stock sprockets on a bike are 13 teeth on the front sprocket, and 48-50 teeth on the rear sprocket. On ktm, stock is (correct me if I'm wrong) 14 front, 54 rear. By teeth, I mean the points on the sprockets. As far as chain, I run a "GB520MXU" chain, which is an x-ring chain, from RK. The only thing the "GB" means, is that it is a gold chain. Im not sure what the part numbers are for the other companies, so I can't say for sure anything about a "B" on the end. All of the mx big bikes (125 2-stroke and up) use the 520 size chain. Hope this helps some.
