2022 MX Discussion

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

My crazy predictions

Hunter wins the title over Jett
Tomac wins the title by less then 5 points
Forkner wins a moto 1 and then dnfs the other
Roczen will win a moto by +10 seconds and then not podium the next
Dungey will get a few podiums but be a 3-7 guy
When mookie comes back he’s a top 3 guy

This is the type of content I show up for.

The rotating announcer thing they are doing is a tryout. Someone will return next year as the voice next to Weege
If that one was too mild of a prediction to balance it out, Ironman II as a final round because California is shutdown due to Monkeypox outbreak
The 250 championships will be closer and more competitive
Jordan Jarvis qualifies for 4 rounds
250 will have 8 different moto winners, 450 will only have 5
Both classes fail to title defend due to injury, crowning first time champions

I halfway feel responsible about that one. I'm sorry for what I've done to you Jett

Was this a cold take? It didn't happen last year, I didn't expect it to happen the first round...

I both can't believe and entirely expected the results. The Lawrences doing good is not much of a shock, Ken is normally good at the start of the season and Sexton just had a "on" day. Those bikes were super cool and team deserved the 1-2 sweeps they got.

Also, I'm counting that as one for Jarvis. Y'all better start putting that alcohol prep pad on your arm for that monkeypox shot because I'm looking real smart right now.

Is there a reason why MXGP is consistently only putting 20-30 riders on the gate for 1st motos? I’ve noticed it before and watching the Ernee replay, only 23 or so 250 racers and about 31 or so 450 racers.

That's all that sign up/decide to race. Time qualifying for 450 in Ernee only had 31 people total.

Also isn't the signup like 1000€ for MXGP (not knowing what AMA charges).

Nagl said it was 10000€ a year, so probably around 500 a race.

Can only hope that's gone down to 500€ race. Saw interviews quite a few years ago from Swedish riders saying it wasn't worth 1000€ to potentially not get in (when they actually had full gates), but that's at least 7 years or something.
