Will a reformat allow me to re-download and use the Autodesk Inventor 2010/2011 trials? Possibly a change of IP address as well.

That's kinda cheating the system. I'd assume so. There's probably a registry string that would need to be deleted in order for it to work. Good luck finding it though.

what if you try to join autodesk students, you may be able to get a 3 year license.

Never knew about that, now I do thanks to you mace. Now I have a 3 three liscence for 3ds max programs, and most importantly, Autodesk Inventor Professional. Now I'm able to finish my designs.

try to get the 3 year license, i got it because my school is involved with autodesk, you might want to ask in yours too

we deal with autocad, and solidworks. I got the 3 year trial for Inventor thanks to you now.
