the Potato Sack, Potato Sack + Portal 2, and Portal 2 make up the top three selling games on steam. not really surprising, but it shows that the idea worked very well. and it let us play Portal a few days sooner! so whats the problem with that.

I agree, I personally didn't buy anything besides portal 2. but people obviously did, and that was the aim when they started the whole thing. to get mad at them for a creative piece of marketing is silly.
I also really love the game.
The thing that possibly surprised me the most is the sound. Man, they have nailed that.
the voice acting is the best i ever heard in a game, better than Bioshock which I always thought had amazingly good voice acting.
the voice acting is very dynamic and is always flowing well. Like when Wheatley is rambling on and in the middle of his sentence you press a button, he seamlessly moves into another sentence. It surprises me that it has never really been done that way in other games, at least none that i can remember, since it adds very much to the atmosphere and feel of the game that you can directly affect a characters voice acting in that way.
The music in the game is brilliant too. It adds so much to the feeling of the game. and again the different pieces of music seamlessly flow. I cant remember the last time i had an "Oh wow" moment in a game before portal 2, but yesterday I had several of those.
besides that the game overall is very good, the puzzles are very cool.
And they slowly introduce more elements to the puzzles, which is good since i was a bit rusty not having played any portal in over a year.
the new additions like the thermal discouragement beams, light bridges, etc. make the puzzles a lot more interesting and I imagine challenging later on.
Right now I just got down into the lower part of Apperture science. Can't really say more without spoilers. but if you've been there you know what I'm talking about.
I thought I liked the game before i got to this part, but I now see that was just the beginning.
Very, very impressed by this game. And I can recommend it to anyone that doesn't mind a bit of a challenge.
Good job Valve, you have not disappointed me yet (Left 4 dead 2 came close... but hey,.. it's left 4 dead

)
