19802 is now running a new version of mxserver that will do a better job of sending the timing info with a high ping. I'd like to hear how it works for everyone who has had chat/scoring lag issues.

First off, the entire main event i was helping jlv out, especially with the situation with #653 in the second. I was trying to make sure things were going fairly. I do this because i know JLV has a lot on his plate during these events. Thats what us track marshalls are supposed to do.

I find it funny that the guys that are considered "fast" are consistently pissed, and the guys that are considered "mediocre" or "slow" have the argument that the fast guys should be able to magically avoid the massacre that happens during these events.

You should watch Jame's race. (James = JB323 for anyone who doesn't know.) Dead last off the start and mediocre lap times but he worked the traffic beautifully.

There have been moments in the first 2 races where I've been thinking "DON'T DO IT SHACK!", and then you triple into a pileup and lose 20 seconds. That aggression helps you sometimes but I think you'd be better off backing it down a notch when things look dicey ahead. Save the fast lines for when you have clear track later in the race.

In your heat race where you didn't get scored, what position was it showing for you? Did it say the race was finished right from the start?

jlv, no the results came up after 6 laps. i got 3rd in my heat idk why that happened it was weird i couldnt type in game or anything but i disconnected and reconnected and it worked

Maybe, maybe it was. Having been a racer for 15 years of my life, and now not having a bike, this game supplements the life I used to live. When I want to win so bad, losing is unbearable. Sure, there are better ways to lose, sometimes I just get caught up in the moment. Don't think I haven't been regretting that post since I woke up.

I agree with you 100% and you are quite helpful usually

The fact is, people are pissed off because their racing experience is ruined by unsmooth opponents (skippiness, bitrate). Couple this with steering lock, and you have a situation (like i had half the main event) where you absolutely CAN NOT pass a laggy rider infront of you because they are skipping all over the track, whether it be a pass for position or lapping someone.

It wasn't unsmooth to me, then again I wasn't racing, but it wasn't really that crazy from a spectators position. JLV was trying to find a happy medium and maybe was a bit too low, and again I realize you weren't RAGING on it so badly, and without a little complaining nothing would ever get improved, I realize all of this, but as I said before, I don't think the results would have really changed, as it is FLAT out hard to pass with 20 dudes right now, because we all need practice riding with that many dudes, see your post below...

We never, ever had this problem in the past. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that racing was 5x better last season than it was this season.... and I'm not saying that just because I haven't won the first two rounds either. Listen to everyone! Its the common opinion around here. I don't blame ddmx at all for calling it quits. When it comes down to it, it doesn't matter how much you practice anymore; you are better off betting on luck rather than skill.

Do not get me wrong here, I'm not blaming the crash physics or the steering lock, as they are great additions to the game. However, there are only about 10-15 guys in this community that can actually handle them in an elite event, some of which don't make the main because the rest of the community can't handle them in a race setting.

I agree that if it is the common opinion around here, but I really think you guys were all just feeding off of eachother...just my opinion. I personally think racing has be WAY better this year, with guys actually battling and changing positions constantly...Again, I don't see how you can argue with the stats and say it is luck, pretty sure the same kinda shit was said last year about how there was only 2 guys to the main from each heat...It isn't luck, if it was you wouldn't have the same 10 guys getting top 10's every week....I will bet money Assuncao is up front again next week, as Juan, ddmx, you, DJD, MIttocs (if he races), jones and phathry will be, guess you guys are just really lucky right? I think the competition is just THAT much higher this year. Again I am NOT saying you are just pissy cause you lost, because I know you are level headed, but you had a piss poor attitude about it, and I could tell (as best you can with text) that you were blaming josh and lowering the bitrate on your poor (4th place) finish, but again, I could be wrong....sorry for rage posting on you, I was angry at a large group of people

As far as taking my own advice? Sorry I was complaining about complainers...Sorry you were complaining about me complaining about complainers....we could play that game all day, fact is I called you guys out, whether I was right or wrong on it, and I'll leave it at that, agree to disagree I don't HATE any of you or have a grudge against you guys or anything, was just stating how I saw it at the time.

I knew someone would go there! lol I knew you were talking to wheels, but I WASNT in the main because I got ran over in my heat and in the LCQ in the first turn by a bunch of goons who were blinking all over the track....But did you hear me bitching to JLV about it, and spamming the chat and forum like crazy? NO I manned up and realized we are ALL racing under the same conditions, and that it's not like I didn't make my fair share of mistakes out there too...

Well since I am considered "mediocre" or "slow", you should know I hit those same problems dude...Watch some of my heats and LCQ's, and you'll see I get screwed by laggers, slow people, GUYS LAPPING ME and so on. Also, Look at real life...Guys like Stewart, Reed, RV, Dungey, are all MAD when they don't win, and often have every excuse in the book, and the slower guys are pumped and don't have many complaints. This game is a microcosm of real life racing, I am sorry I called you guys out and got you even more raged lol Next time I'll just laugh to myself at your excuses and rages. Again, agree to disagree

Armed combat perhaps? A good kill followed by a humiliating couple o' T-Bags works wonders on frazzled nerves(in BF2 especially). This will probably go down as the watershed moment in the history if this sim because of the growth of the community has caught up with the coziness that existed before that new format was tried this week. Maybe JLV could establish criteria for an "Invitational" series where being a sacred cow assures exclusivity(which is obviously needed) for some high level SX and MX racing. The demos and subsequent video's would be EPIC. Then those "pros" would be frozen out of the "other" official series to be hashed out by the rest of us goons, noobs, crashers and idiots. Hmmmmm?

During the championship races my pitboard didn't work. I just raced 3 races on the server and everything worked fine.

It took 2 hours to run one class last night, couple that in with the added confusion of two classes it could easily take 5 hours to run two classes.
