Well, I'm liking 1 more. Being an .saf file, people won't be able to edit the skins. The skins will most likely have the team logo's on them, so if anyone post screenshots with them using our skins, they will just look like wannabe's. And if anyone uses the team skins when they aren't on the team, and they want to enter a race, we can just deny them entry. I have no problem giving out my skins if they are in .saf form.

yea you all have good points, something i ran into is when me and james were doing some races tonight he used his team skin and well i couldnt see it when i watched the replay because i didnt have it. If i did a skinpack with all the normal skins and then have the team skins with them there would be no need to edit demos, fastlap.mxdemos would be skinned team or no team it would just be a much cleaner system i guess you would say.

It will still cause a lot of confusion though.

If they take a screenshot with a team bike, and someone who doesn't know who is on the team will think they are, and screw up who they thought was on the team.

Then posts like "OMG, wrnt u on team ________?" "no dude i just took the bike"

Well, if we didnt have a bunch of immature brats on this forum (no offense to JLV or anyone there is nothing you can do about it) it wouldnt be to bad. If your childish enough to use another teams bike in a race...or for any purpose really then you really need to grow up. And if you dont know whos on your team and whos not then you have serious issuses. And im pretty sure everyone knows about whos on what team. For me theres a select group of people on this forum i respect and pay attention to and the rest of the people i really dont give a dam what they do. If joe bob joined the forum yesterday and he posted screens of my team bike id give him the finger and go on with my life....you guys are the same way im sure. It would just make DJ look better because obviously someone else thought his skin was kick ass.

There, my rant for the day :D

*if your on my team send me a PM keep it on the DL :P (kidding of course)

hey, i made the team massacre skin, why is DJ getting all the credit here?
haha, seriously though, i dunno,
it kinda does make you feel less special if just anyone can use your stuff, and isnt that one of the main allures of joining a team, access to privileged items?
perhaps if they were to be put in the saf with a name which did not allow ingame access, and get the teams to edit their demos before sending them?

So, if Joe Bob comes here with good intentions, and accidentally mistakes billy bob for using a team skin, he doesn't matter? Then Joe Bob leaves because the forum is an asshole to him because he doesn't even get a chance to realize billy isn't on the team?

This game already has a limited fanbase, we shouldn't make it smaller by assuming everyone knows everyone.

I can't even tell you all the teams. I know about Massacre, SFR, and Team Honda. I can't even tell you who is on all of them, but then again, I'm kind of out of the loop anyway. (I need MSN, but I'm to lazy to ever start it up.)

I know, but I only use AIM. :/

I've got it on my computer, I think. I'll see if I can get it to work.

That is just asking for trouble. Rewrew is one of the smarter people on here, and still had trouble

Aww, thanks DJ.

lol but yea, it still takes me a few tries to get them right mostly because the text editor(and myself) likes to forget things. And if you forget something you cant just re edit the file you have to start over, or from what ive experienced anyway.

Is anyone extremely opposed to having the files in a .saf?

No. It will really help more, since it will clean up my very cluttered folder.

what if there was a skin pack per team.

e.g. say masscre guys dont want anybody using the massacre bike and gear?

then you would make a special pack for them with the regular skins but including the massacre bike and gear

and same with sfr just put our bike and gear in the pack but leave out massacres bike

then of course the person splicing (drew) would have the pack with all team skins ?

Wouldnt work, the demo reads from the skinpack you have in your folder so if you dont have the team skins it will just be the default blank skin.

BTW if your team is planning on competing in the upcoming nationals please PM me.
