But think about it, there was 35 people on last night. Top 20 would make the "night show". That is easly obtainable you only have to beat 15 people max laptimewise. That would be simple and allow more skilled riders in.

hey jlv would it be possible maybe one of the rounds to do like a wildcard round with maybe a 15-18 man main event ? just for cough beta testing cough. not for every round but maybe just sometime during the series, since i know you said you dont want it.

it would be easy to setup, just take top 4 and 5-6 go to lcq.

Like I said, if we go to that format, I probably won't even waste my time trying. At least with racing there is a chance for me to get in, plus I actually get to race once or twice, with the lap times, I'd try to get a fast lap time, and not make it, even though I beat a ton of people who are "faster" than me because I am so consistent.

It really hurts the slower consistency type guys like me...example, I beat fred in both of our races (really good racing between us!), and if it was lap time based, he would have made top 20 with is fast lap 1:04 time he can pull with an open track because he is WAY faster than me, just wasn't as consistent, and I wouldn't even come close to making the "night show"

Funny to have some "troubles" together some hours after...
Fab, (if that is what i can call you), for as late as it was for you, you were riding like a champ! All the xFire guys can vouche for me when I say that, at the time, I didn't think I would be able to take you down in a 1 lap race.

Well Sween I diagree with you bud. You would make it in based on a 20 man evening event. I think if realism is what we are trying to achieve here then it is the right thing to do. You don't see some guy who races 450 Junior showing up at an AMA event and going out there in a heat and screwing it up for someone else. The fastest guys should make the heats that would then be realistic. I might not be fast enough to make it in either. But if that is the case then I should not be there.

You can call me Fab, all my friend call me like that (it's Fabien my name). For the one lap death match, honestly, that was crazy! But it's a game and i was ready to have fun to race this one lap "unsane" race! But the JLV choice was the best way! It's YOU the champ(you do the job winning the race!), not me! Perhaps the "Vet" champ, why not?JLV need to create a new class!lol. I'm not so "hot" riders like you and all dude in the main...My hands was "wet" all during the main! :P I need to practice more! THX again for all your stuf and contributions for this game!

I agree that it would hurt consistency. Last night was my first main and i made it by being consistent and allowing everyone else to crash around me. They pushed hard but i pushed enough to be fast but consistent. And a 20 rider main would suck for me. My computer cant run that many people and not lag to death since there are also the spectators there that didnt make it taking bandwith. If there are no spectators i might be able to. I might have finished last in the main since i was almost 2 secs off the pace but i at least made it! :)

It would not be a 20 rider main. It would be 2 10 rider heats, and an LCQ just like in real.

I just ran the numbers and for a one time event (i.e. not 24/7) I can handle 19 with the spectators in and 28 with no spectators. The only reason not to do it is it will hurt the slow computers, which actually is an important reason.

That's pretty much right. The reason I don't do registration and qualifying is to make sure I don't end up wasting slots on no-shows. I've noticed that when you require a sign up, a lot of people who sign up don't show up at the race.

I guess one solution would be to reserve the top 5 in points + the top 30 lap times until 10 minutes before the race, and then open it up to everyone for 10 minutes to fill the no-show slots. The downside would be that the reserved players would need to stay connected during those 10 minutes or lose their slot.

Josh, we need a vet class! More than 35 years old, cause after 25 years we loose some reflex...LOL
I hope i'm not the oldest guy of this game? Atoc111 is old i think too. OLD GUYS KICK SOME KIDS ASS! Why not an idea to create a new team or a old school crew? :P

I vote to designate one of the rounds a 2-Stroke only race.

Shake things up a bit.

A vet class would be awesome. I'm just barely staying on schedule with one class though.

Dhiels idea is awesome. For those complaining having a better chance during 5 lap races because of slower laptimes but better consistency would still work perfect for his idea, if you seeded into heats by Total race time and not fastest lap time. I for one, get pretty frustrated when every weekend I have been within the top 5 in speed, yet have been unable to make a main, or top 2 LCQ because well what I assume just crap luck. (I've gotten two 3rd in qualifiers two 3rds in LCQ's, except this weekend I just gave up out of frustration.) This weekend being my best chance, led 4 out of 5 laps, had a 9 second lead, just to run into the same lapper three times in two corners, pretty frustrating (ended up 3rd). I would love to be in the main someday, not saying it wont happen, maybe Ill adopt everyone elses strategy to use other riders as berms. I spent a lot of time practicing, just to lose it all in 5 minutes.....okay I feel better.
