Yes, I probably would have been able to make a main in pro towards the end of last year because of consistency, but my point was that I wouldn't have been able to qualify into the fast 40. I've never been all that fast, I've just been good at staying off the ground.
I just looked back into the qualifying times for 2016, and I would have been outside the top 40 in pro qualifying in every single round. That means I wouldn't have even been able to race pro night.
Like I said, if you stand by this decision it's not the end of the world, it's just a bummer that it essentially forces me to race the "extra night".

Thanks again for all you guys putting in the work to bring us another series, I'm always glad to see the replica series run since it's the thing that attracted me to this game in the first place.

So I'm fairly shit at this game but managed a handful of points in am's this year (idk like 10 between sx and mx 450 Amateur in the 5 events I tried). Must I request a license change to B and race the 250 or 450 Amateur class or can I race 250 Novice since I still have a C license and my points were mainly scored at events where barely enough to make the 20 rider point cutoff attended?

The novice class is for true beginners/new racers. We can't give everyone a qualifying spot and trophy. But we will study who is getting into each class.

I agree, so can C licenses race 250 and 450 Amateur or do they have to request a change? More or less I want to know if I can race the Novice class or not

Dp but from the sounds of it I assume I'd just do Amateur in which case I'll just submit a license request change anyway

Im in the same boat as Bonneau, i would be in every pro LCQ cuz i cant make top 36 = im stuck between ams and pro, i think it would be a good idea to be able to raceams if we dont make it in the pro heats just like before

While I don't disagree with you that there's kind of an awkward gap between pro and amateur,(I even pushed to split 250 ams into an A and B class, where the a class is made up of those guys looking to go pro, but I digress) if guys like you can't qualify for pro some weeks, and bump down to ams, in my opinion that could really cause some issues for the guys strictly trying to race the amateur series.

Couldn't someone like you work on trying to race pro, but still make main events and compete for the podium on open night? I'm not trying to point the finger here or single you out at all, just providing my $.02

Yeah I feel ya Bonneau, I've never been a hot lap guy either but when they didn't have AM SX in 2014 i had no choice but to try pro. Once you get in pro races you will get faster by being surrounded by stronger competition. Sometimes I wish I could just play AMs and win alot but it's more fun to push yourself cause you will surprise yourself with good pro results just by being consistent.

This is my opinion as well.

In Bonneau's case I do think if he put in more time he should be able to make it into the night show in pro..

Being 100% honest I think that if someone wins a AM championship they should be moving up the following season.
