I lowered the bitrate because it seemed like some people were getting flooded. Mikey said he was getting delayed chat plus there was that scoring issue. The server itself wasn't flooded. Mikey, do you mind saying how fast your connection is?

As far as reconnecting goes, it makes it a nightmare for the organizer. Next time if you reconnect it will just be tough luck if you can't get back in.

Would locking the server at the start of the program be a possibility? Not only was the problem people leaving and wanting back in, but new people joining and not knowing what was going on either. I say lock it down when you are ready to start heat 1, and just run it from there, if you leave you're done.

I forgot to say congratulations to Jones. I'll probably regret this, but I'm unbanning him for a week in honor of his win.

And James ran the consistent race I wish I could run. He stayed smooth an calm and did really well in a fast field.

I think you overreacted a little there Sween and let the mad get you mad. Not all of the quotes looked like whining to me. Just simply saying how the race went. And if DDMX doesn't wish to race in that series again why comment him on that? It's his choice. And as far as Shack? Um did you even read the quote? He simply just answered why the server was lagging. I saw no complaint from him whatsoever. I do understand how whiners can get annoying though:D

Good point I suppose, I was a bit angry typing that, but you also don't know what it feels like to put a ton of work into hosting a race like this, then have everyone disrespect your hard work like that. There was much more complaining going on in the server and on vent after the race...

But my ping is usually 270-320 ping and i got ADSL2+ om pretty sure

And with the chat thing, even if theres 12 people chat lags and so dose the pit board, it always says im in 1st so i cant tell if im getting lapped.
It sucks but i don't mind because i got the guys on vent to fill me in on whats going on.

That should be plenty fast. I'm looking at the timing code now and I think I see a potential problem for high latency connections. I might be able to fix it by batching the timing events up instead of sending them as soon as they come in.

I have the same problems as Mikey with the pitboard and chat, my pings usually around 300 or so but randomly spikes to like 2000 for no reason (unless it's just my slow internet).
I'm in New Zealand too, so maybe distance from the server has something to do with it
