Amateur Series - Would you be in for this?
I've seen a lot of posts about an amateur series, and I definitely think it is a good idea to give more people the option to race. Trying to keep this simple as I'm obviously not a pro at running races.
Here is what I'm thinking. Right now just want to gauge feedback if we'd have enough entries to make it worthwhile.
Time slot: Weekday during the morning around 10am PST.
Tracks: Outdoors - Custom tracks, not replcias.
Format: 2 - 15 minute motos. 40 riders (first come first server basis). Single class, engine CC's will vary from depending on the event. We will mix it up.
Who is eligible: Anyone who has NOT scored a 450cc SX point in the MotoOption SX series, or is not top 10 from East/West Lites Series in MotoOption SX Series, and is not top 10 in EMF SX points series.
Would you sign up and race? This would be an rF event and would likely have a small prize for the series champion.

i would be down to race it, when do you think it would be held?
coz for the guys like me that only just miss out on the main events, its a long time to wait for the local series.

it may be too late for it now, but i still think a legit AX series would have been really cool. and as far as nationals, if you guys run it how they really are going to with an LCQ race, thatll atleast give people that cant qualify a change to race with a full or near full gate.

No it's not too late cause there might be people who are still amateurs and the pros so it's up to you to know if you're pro or not, and yeah it'd be fun, I think I'm at pro level for nationals so I don't think I'm gonna be racing it
but if I'm terrible then I'll race it
... Maybe it could be a 5 race series or something

I really like the idea of this. Not sure if the time would work out for me though.

Have different class's but yeah a series like this would be nice.
Maybe. 125cc, 250 under and 250 over And why not throw in a 50's race =p
I think it might start off slow but once the word got around you'd draw in alot of people, imo.

If it's possible to make it fit for Europeans also, I guess there will be a lot of riders from here, who will be racing, including me..
Great idea Checkerz!

Re: Amateur Series - Would you be in for this?
I'd suggest the same time as the sx, but on fridays, that way it will be on Saturday for Aussies and Europeans and most of us would ride on Sunday so it should work out well that way. But if you have to do it during the week on friday again would be easier for Aussies and Euros at least...
