MXS Speed and Style Tournament - Sign Ups Closed

Post by wheels1758 »

Alright guys here it is:

MXS Speed and Style Tournament
Head-to-Head, single elimination tournament
Riders will have seconds subtracted from their total race time by the judges - Wheels1758 and Blitz
Scoring:
Ridden Wheelie: -1 second per 2 seconds of wheelie (i.e. 5 second wheelie, -2.5 seconds)
Whip - where bike and rider become horizontal(parallel to ground): -2 Seconds
Scrub - Rider and bike are parallel, less than the height of the bike off the ground: -3 Seconds
Invert Whip(Renner whip) - where rider whips and becomes underneath the bike: -4 Seconds
Flips(Front or Back): -5 Seconds

I will post the demos, so everyone watch the sick whips. I will also write and post a detailed report of the time removed from each rider's trt.

This is the competition sign-up. Please post your name and number. When sign-ups are finished, i will create a random bracket, and post the first race information. Riders who do not submit a demo on time will be disqualified and their oponent wil get a bye. No late sign-ups.

Haha :D I've lost some style after the new rider got released actually.
2 Q's tho, how long does a wheelie have to be to reduce the trt by 1 sec?
And could you change one of the rules, about the scrub, to scrub you must turn the front wheel towards the ground, and to do that, you have to turn in the opposite direction(press left to turn the wheel to the right) wich makes flat scrubs pretty much impossible since you lose alot of sideways momentum by doing what i said to scrub.
To do a flat scrub the jump needs to be perfect for it, a long lip that isnt too steep. And i dont know any jump that is like that. So I think the scrub should just make you go lower.

Well, you dont have to if you want, i dont wanna be picky :D

I have been thinking about changing the wheelie scoring. I am thinking something like a 2:1 ratio. For every 2 seconds you ride a wheelie, 1 second will be removed. 5 second wheelie, -2.5 seconds. I will make sure of this tonight and edit.

As for the scrub, i think im going to leave it the way it is. But as for when he is measured, i was thinking fairly soon after leaving the ground. This video is basically what i was going for. Obviously he is a lot higher half-way through the jump, but you get the point. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYytyij1wII

I also think flips will be worth something like -5 seconds. I sorta forgot about flips, but in speed and style, flips are performed.

Hey, you never know what may happen. With a random draw, Fred could be matched against dannyboy or DJ_diehl, both throw insane whips. And you dont know how much a crash can affect a guy, especially if he's trying to do sick whips.

Again, all of this will be confirmed tonight. And every bit of scoring will be worked out before the first round begins. Please bring to my attention any ideas/questions you have. You can PM me, just to keep this thread a little cleaner. This is my first crack at a tournament like this, and as far as i know, the first one held here on mxsim. Therefore, I do not know everything, so please give me suggestions if you have any. I dont want to have looked over anything.

it all depends on the track, please, dont choose a track where controllers have such an advantage like locust.
I tried racing against djdiehls fastlap at locust, I wasnt a challenge racing, neither whipping lol.

This is gonna be a tough one :D

Do not worry, the tracks that will be chosen will have plenty of jumps.....so we can see hella sick whips. I believe you are good at jumping, so you should have no problem.
