2012 EVS Sports SX Open Bench Racing
I had a blast watching everyone tonight, and this event gets me excited every year with the unique format. So let's bench race about it!
What was the biggest surprise of Night 1?
- Tyler Crain's Victory
- James Andrew Winning the Race Tech Amateur Cup Main Event
- Tysen Fresquez captures the SpazzticRaceCompany.com Holeshot and doesn't win
- John Guest wins Super Pole
- Top riders like Taylor Barry, Juan Pablo, and Lites East Champion Mark Ziedler fail to qualify
- Austin Jones doesn't show up
- Other
What are you looking forward to most for night 2?
- Racing on a new track no one except Wheels/Sween/Checkerz has seen?
- Head 2 Head Racing
- Who wins the EVS Sports SX Open Pro Class
- Who wins the Race Tech Amateur Cup
Was Super Pole a success?
- Yes
- No
- What's a Super Pole?
What team had the best looking gear/bikes in their debut?
And of course anything else you want to add!

Re: 2012 EVS Sports SX Open Bench Racing
I'm with you this race is so sick got me all excited for supercross and found out I still have a lot of work ahead of me before supercross season starts..
I think there was no surprise with t-Crain winning tonight he showed great speed in out doors gained Anne confidence and carried all the momentum from outdoors to the indoors
James Andrews is a fast amateur I had a couple picked out that I thought would win and he was definatly one of my choices
Tysen getting a great start in the main looked to be off to a unstoppable season defiantly shocked he didn't run away with it. I figured there would be some great battling with tysen and Crain but some crashes and bad luck didn't let tysem get it tonight but set him up good for contention tomorrow.
John guest (jaden yuki) always throws down fast laps but usually doesn't have the constancy to back the speed up with results. I think this event was built for a person like John guest. Tonight not only did he throw down a fast lap he got him self a solid top 5 finish aswell if he can keep his constancy up he might be a regular podium finisher for supercross.
A bunch of top riders not making the main isn't a big surprise tonight because everyone in the race was a top rider. This had to be the most stacked race there has ever been. You got 250 west guys 250 east guys the 450 guys(and brina) all in one race fighting for 22 positions in the main event. If that's not stacked idk what is!
Austin jones not showing up wasn't much of a surprise. He's a fast rider but he's kinda over the game rather go hangout with his friends. Last time I talked to him he said he was making a come back for supercross so hopefulu he will because I think he will definatly be a title contender if he actually shows up and races.
I think this is one of the best races that rf puts on lots if racing for everybody even I you don't make the main you get three different races you get to ride in. The amateurs get a chance to be livestreamed and have a nice amount of race time. IMO best event rf has!
Going into night to I'm really looking forward to who wins the overall in the pro class. Also I like how there is timed qualifying that is another thing I will be looking forward to! I don't think ill be able to make the race tomorrow due to having class that night but ill be there for practice to help prepare for winter indoor!
Superpole was definatly a success it gave the too ten fastest quilfiers a chance to show the speed and skill that they have and they get to show off on the livestream. I think that's every racers part being in the livestream even I it's a shutout from sween as he glimpse you for half a second. It's like making vurb Moto or any other motocross website for the first time as a amteur rider.
Well those are my thought on the event and looking forward to another night of racing tomorrow!
Thanks to the rf crew for everything they have done to make this possible for us the racera to race and Have fun on.

Got to watch the last half of the Pro main, was pretty entertaining
. Most likely will be able to race tonight, might not use the team bike and use a 125 just because I have no chance of being in the final standings since I missed yesterday. Glad we get the WI style qualifying, so much better than people doing 500 laps
.

Re: 2012 EVS Sports SX Open Bench Racing
I'd have to say biggest surprise of night 1 for me was Tyler Crain taking it. I don't doubt Crain's abilities in this game one bit but I thought he was struggling a bit this week and to me it showed when he had to come through the Semis and even that race he didn't win or seem to be shockingly quick. Glad to see he turned it around for the main and made for some great racing. Really bummed for my mate Tysen though. Just from what I caught of it he kept getting wrapped up in some lappers and went down a few times trying to get around Smith and Brina. At least it sets up an interesting night 2 now!
Top 10 for me last night was good. I felt like I should have been a little higher up but shoot I can't complain with a top 10 in my first real major Supercross appearance. Kinda bummed that neither of the Barry Bros. got in to the main but nice to see Tysen, Markham, and I all in the top 10 for Barry/Fly Racing.
In reality the AM Cup wasn't a big surprise to me. I am a little surprised in Andrew winning but I was not surprised in the pace those guys were running. Even though it's the Amateur class it was still a very talented field and I'm looking forward to seeing how those guys will run tonight.
Tonight will be crazy. Timed qualifying, the Head2Head racing, and champions crowned. Definitely pumped for it all!

Re: 2012 EVS Sports SX Open Bench Racing
The biggest surprise was Stheart Clothing's Austin Jones deciding not to race last minute because of a practice crash (a.k.a. MXS is too mainstream for Jones
). However, he is feeling better today and we might see the returning champ back out there.
On the Amateur side, Stheart Clothing's Sam Greenawalt and Garrett Smith both had bad nights. Both riders were favorites to take the Amateur cup overall but with bad luck and poor decisions from other players coming into effect, 14th and 15th will have to do for night one. Better luck tonight boys!

Also note that Andrew O'Hagan should be able to race tonight. Passport issues have kept him in Australia for the past week. Jet lag may be an issue.
With tonight's shortened practice, we have a feeling that 4 year veteran Sam Greenawalt will have a clear advantage over Timmy Try-hard that can practice all day.

Re: 2012 EVS Sports SX Open Bench Racing
I learned that starts are important. And difficult tracks magnify that ten fold. It doesn't matter if you're cautious the first laps when you're in the back, the squids will find a way to collect you. The one race I wasn't in dead last at the end of lap one I did alright until I choked. But I haven't raced in a few months so its to be expected.
Honestly after last nights dismal racing and continued terrible decision making I had to witness I am pretty much over MXS. Running this AX series is about to suck for the next 6 weeks.

Hopefully I can get out of class before 8. I am really worried I might miss it.Hi Im Skyqe wrote:Oh you don't say there Sammy?Stheart Clothing wrote:Also note that Andrew O'Hagan should be able to race tonight. Passport issues have kept him in Australia for the past week. Jet lag may be an issue.
