The edgesplitting is pretty bad. For example, on the visor in the first picture, there is a random hard edge above the bolt. Also, on the back of the helmet (in the 2nd picture), the vent piece has some weird hard edges.

Try selecting the edges in blender, and do Ctrl+e > mark sharp. Then use edgesplit, and make sure to click the "From Marked As Sharp" button.

So I'm looking fro something to ease me in and I'm thinking a helmet would be cool. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking the TLD SE3 at the minute. Could do with some better images than the net has to offer though. If anyone on here owns one and could post a few side/top/rear/front pics up I'd happily model it and release it to the community.

Thanks Break.
Sweet! Hopefully we can get some more new helmets out. If you need any help with anything, feel free to pm me.

I want one of the helmets with a flat bill on them, saw a C rider with one at Loretta's and he got a podium, and I figure that's just what I need to get in the zone. I want to be fast enough to where crazy things to start happening, my feet fly off the pegs, and I feel like I'm going real fast.

Pic so you know what I'm talking about:

It was only one kid on a Suzuki. I thought Pant Saggin brought them around and like you, hoping they die out soon.

LOL

This kid wearing it at Loretta's was your usual national-level C rider, fast enough for B but flying in C class. (the fact that he didn't win was sad)

I would run it with that Flannel&Pants gear that TimFerry made way back when. On the woodbark 250 or whatever it is.

If Mace-X has already got an SE3 then I'll do the Trooper. No point doing 2.

Got 3 days off work now too so should have something to show soonish. WOOT.

IF ANYONE OWNS A TROOPER PLEASE SEND ME GOOD QUALITY PICTURES OF FRONT/SIDE/TOP/REAR AND BELOW!!!!

Need to get this perfect as I'll be baking from high to low. Cheers guys!

To people taking pictures:

Stand as far back as possible from the helmet, and zoom in as far as possible. This will lower the distortions associated with taking pictures close. Just make sure you use a flash or something, so there is little motion blur
