Shoei VFX-W

Post by giopanda »

here it is, finally the new

Shoei VFX-W

comes in 3 variants, FCR3, Sabre and Black matte.
each variant has it's own color subvariants for a total of 12 helmets (the black matte isn't in the picture)

i had to include 3 different .jm files because i had 2 different normal maps (one .jm is for the matte) so i thought it was better to have 2 .jm files instead of 12 normal maps..

took me like 3/4 hours to complete, now that we don't need shading anymore the process of texturing is become much faster imho.
anyway despite the short time i think they're almost perfect replicas (had some troubles matching the graphics on the visor due to it being not modeled exactly as in real life) but i managed to make everything look ok.

credits goes to albertsx65 for the model of course and Dj for fixing it, uvmapping and matte model

enjoy!

thanx guys!
well all i know about normal and spec maps is what i discussed here on the forum and something i found on the net, nothing more.
it's just about considering the normal map as a heightmap..
anyway thanx for the appreciation, but please rate and comment on puremxs!
ciao 8)

Amazing looking helmet guys! Just one complaint though, why there's no green color variant? :(

Amazing work gio, DJ, and albersx! This is by far my favorite helmet in real life, and now is my favorite helmet in game. The normal map is spot on, the textures are precise, and the overall work seems perfect.

thanx david!
i spend like half an hour at the eicma show last weekend at the shoei booth looking and trying this helmet, and i have to say it's awesome, for how it fits and how it looks, graphics are nothing special but i love it's aggressive shape, that's why i decided to work on it and hope everyone likes how it turned out!
