effects

Post by mace-x »

well, i discovered a guy that maked gta san andreas run with hdr, he modified some .dll files and an enbseries file that configures the effects........
some other guys taked that archive and make it run on richard burns rally and guilty gear, so that´s my question, is there any way to get those effects in mx simulator?

this are the differences between hdr and without...

I've talked to Gordy, DJ, an Wilson about this, and from what I can tell, it won't work with the current version of OpenGL used.

GTA and RBR use DirectX, which is what the HDR is made for.

This mod can also be done for other games like Mount and Blade, but again, it is ran with DirectX.

JLV told me that it was OpenGL 1.2 (?) that is used in here, and if you wanted any HD effects, you'd need at least OpenGL 2.0

If you don't know what OpenGL or DirectX are, they are basically rendering platforms. OpenGL has been around for a long time. CS 1.6 used it, among most older games. Direct X is fairly new (or at least 9/10/whatever they are at now.) These are generally better rendering platforms.

But, I'd still wait for what JLV says, I'm not the programmer. :D

Thats a hell dodgy bloom job they did. Why would you want bloom on the info display? And its about 50 million times too bright. That water looks good though....

I guess you could hook the SwapBuffers call and add a bloom effect there. It would be a pretty good trick though.

Right now my top two priorities are fixing the rider and adding internet multiplayer. Pixel shader effects will come after that.

This one is just WAY too bright! But some shader effects in the future would be awesome, after other important features of course
