My thoughts are it should definitely be tied to force and be staged... (thinking phase 2 of this whole deal)

"Light force, rider tips over, stays on the bike, picks it up almost immediately... this is for the really slow small tip overs. Still works this way now if you don't touch his head... but should be a light force to the head and be like this as well"

"Medium force... same as the update minus the concussion"

"Hard force... rider starts to crash like now but eventually hands fly free (future update...?!) Rider re-spawns next to bike and picks it up to get going..."

I hate wasting 10 seconds on the ground for a small crash, yet i understand wanting to make it a real detriment for big crashes. Laying on the ground more than playing really sucks... Especially when I'm trying to just get around without crashing and not pushing the limits.

I was just watching some replays and I think the timing of it all could be sped up. Definitely try to get the pseudo-'lagspike' that DJ talked about sorted out. That takes a 1/4 or half second. Also, when he is just laying there in superman position, is it posible to get him kicking his legs a little bit? This would make the 'getting back on' animation/stage more realistic. The kicks could be pretty small and random and it would still look fine. Now it all just slowly slides into place. Also can the second phase after the lag spike be sped up, (the getting back on animation). It seems too slow.

I think that time added to penalize the rider for crashing hard should be added when you are just laying there as a ragdoll. Don't just slow down the animations. If it is a hard crash, knock the bastard out for5 seconds, then he wakes up and gets his shit together and hops back on!

I hope we never have this update,I've always wanted a motocross game that showed the rider getting back on the bike. Not just respawning next to the bike.

Yeah, but if he could get blown off the bike and then climb his ass back over to it, that would be dope!

I think the blackout time needs to be minimised, or scaled for the size of the crash. Getting up seems to take about twice as long now because of the rider repositioning himself
i dont get a black out... but i noticed the text box screen is darker.

Garrasaki brings up valid points, and i have to ask, why not have the rider completely detach then just respawn on the bike after a specified time?
Because he wants a realistic way for the rider to get back onto the bike.

As the legs are going through the bike, I don't think the realism aspect of it should be a problem
excuse if I'm out of line but that makes no sense at all. having a rider flail behind a bike making 3 cartwheels and then sliding back onto the bike is a "little" less realistic than just letting the rider go and re spawning on the bike.

don't get me wrong i like the new update, it's much better than nothing :) but it definitely needs work. IMHO the rider should fall off and at low speeds (washing out etc.) the time to get back up should be much less than what it is now.
also when i crash in single player the screen goes black for like 10 seconds, it would be much more amusing to be able to see what happens.
