Lagg - 02 vs. 03 server

So when I play MXS I of course play online and I only ride the 03 and 02 server. I rode a 23 rider main on 02 at rd15 of the b class series by Phathry and my ping was 78-112 and a little bit over that at times.......I just rode on 03 with not even half that many riders and my ping was from 200s-400s and sometimes up to 500s!

.....is it the server that creates all this lag?...or is it me? Because if I can ride 02 I should be able to ride 03 right? Please tell me if this is normal and happens to most people....thanks

Well. 02 IS the competition server, which would need to have better performance for big races. And it never happens to me, my ping never really goes over 100ms.
