Engine tuning

Post by Corey XL350r »

I think a good thing for the game would be advanced engine tuning. Like efi of carby tuning, changing the powerband and delivery of a bike. also faster parts should be downloadable i think that would be the best thing.
Long live the old XR's and XL's

What I would like to know is how the bikes ingame have super efi systems the bike never bogs like in real life? :P

Doesn't really matter though unless you demand a perfect simulator

Jonee, if you get off that Lamaha and onto an EFI bike you'd know that they don't bog anymore. :P

Our weather conditions are constant, therefore the carburetor is always tuned perfectly.

Faster parts? Downloadable for free? Everyone will end up only using the fastest parts, which is exactly what we have now with no downloadable parts. Sounds like a lot of coding for no reason.

Definitely agree here.

Mapping ignition curves would be cool though, as they wouldn't necessarily add power, but make the power delivery different. Who knows how hard that would be to do, since it would be like adding a new hp/torq curve for each setting.

I have a bike with EFI haha yeah they don't bog but the last bikes that JLV created was the 2009 range and none of them had EFI

Yeah sounds like a waste of time when JLV could be working on 450's :P

Yeah. Not to mention that you would pretty much have to fudge the curves unless you have access to all of the bikes and all of the parts

I think more sliders for more engine tuning would be cool but idk about all that carb/efi tuning. EFI tunes itself anyways.

This could be verry nice, i did an app to map the curve power on NFS shift, it was nice to change the torque curve on some circuits. it could be nice here too,(but not to put much HP than the stock engine )

Maybe it could be like a addon setting or something, and cost a little bit of $ for the add on? Have a setting for bottom to mid to top power delivery or something like that. It wouldnt really make the bikes faster but would make it suit your riding style better and how you want the power delivered correct? Its a good thought, but I agree I would rather see the 450s first.

You do realize you can pretty much move the torque and horsepower wherever you need it by changing the gearing, right? Cheapest engine tuning available in motocross, and extremely effective.
