I think DJ mentioned this but the cut out for the rear shock canister can be filled in to give you a lower poly count and later alphed in the texture.

[quote="BuddyTheElf"]No problem, I also noticed you havnt modelled the bottom corners of the front number board.

also with the bottom clamp that it lies on.

LODs, what a mystery. Im just going to release a high and low poly version of my bike, so the ones with nasa comps can get the extra detail, instead of baking it down so everyone uses the same model.

Make LODs. People with an awesome PC can run it at 100 model geometric detail and disable lods, but people with a lesser PC can run a nice model at a nice framerate. Just make the low poly version the first LOD.

The low poly version will be the first LOD for the high poly version, but I have been told my high poly version will be to high poly to be the only version. So a separate low poly version is necessary.

I don't understand what is so mysterious about LODs. You make lower detail versions of the bike, add _lod# at the end of their name. At a model geometric detail of 50, the lod will kick in at 2^# feet away. Eg yz250f_frame_lod6.jm will appear 64 feet away from the camera.

Cool, how will the model geometric detail setting affect when lods show?

As I said, a setting of 50 is the base setting. Higher than this will make the lods engage at longer distances. Lower than 50 will make the lods engage at shorter distances.

A lot of people set their model geometric detail really low, even though the bulk of the models don't have lods.

Um ohk, thank you. You can have as many lods as you want right? Also, what distance values did you use for your yamaha?

lol the way you put that DJ, I had to think about it for a minute, >.< I haven't worked with numbers in far too long...

Attacker, what is the poly count at for your high poly and low poly version of your Suzuki?
