New graphics card (Low framerate)

Post by kacper2kt »

Hello everyone !
My trouble is about my graphics card. I changed Asus EAH 4830 to Gainward GTS 450 512mb GDDR5 . Now I have troubles only in Mxs.(Nba,Farming Simulator, Dead Island, Far Cry, Modern Warfare 3... works perfect)
For example when I want to play on that settings I have 8-15 fps :| On previous card I had 125fps on that setup.

I also tried to run on lowest resolution (640x480)
Result:

Then tried on that setup
Result the same:

Don't know how to fix it. I tried nvdia drivers (296.10 version and now 301.42), but it didn't help.

My pc: Windows XP SP3
Amd Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor 5600+ 2.81 GHz
2 GB RAM
Gainward GTS 450 512Mb GDDR5 graphics card.

Does the driver info look correct?

What does it say?

You might want to try the driver sweeper from yz's driver guide.

Sorry for double post, but I found something strange. When I started mxs, I chose ekswanbee track. I had 40-50 fps. I rode in the corner of map and then my fps was constantly 60. Then i loaded benkeboda and i had 60 fps :D.
After restart Mxs I chose Benkeboda and again i had 10 fps. Then loaded Ekswanbee as I wrote and after few second I had constantly 60 fps.
Josh, do you know what i have to do ? Because I annoying to load Ekswanbee then other tracks :?

Im curious as to what size power supply you're running as your previous card required 225w and the new requires a minimum of 400.

Do you think this is the reason ?
As I said, my games are working perfectly (bit better than previous card. For example in Nba 2k12 I have 5-8 fps more on max settings)

Not sure to be honest. I know that those other games use your multicore cpu so that may offset the lack of gpu performance to an extent. MXS uses only 1 core so it could make this problem be seen more. I would double check the PS rating u have though to rule it out as a potential cause. Spec wise the 2 cards you had listed appeared to be equal aside from power consumption and type of ram used.

DP. Double check all the settings used is the nvidia control panel. Make sure you try a combination of settings to see if something you have selected is causing the issue. You did change cards completely from ATI based to Nvidia so maybe the factory presets dont agree with MXS. Try messing with the anti-aliasing, buffering etc.. to see if it makes a difference.

Something's wrong with the OpenGL driver. Still hasn't posted the driver info.

you may need to update the driver. if that doesnt work, reinstall mxs (back up personal folder first, and your cd-key), then if that still fails you could try to reinstall the card itself again. but i might have to ask, how large is your monitor?
