What do you have against option 3? Which is the same thing as option 2, but with a template.

Honestly Andy, you open yourself up to that shit. You flaunt around this "upcoming model" for ages and obviously surround yourself with immature kids. You are always arguing with people on facebook and skype and whatever else. I almost think you like all the drama surround you and that kawasaki. You need to find new sim bros or something. Dont talk to the select few that do that stuff at all. Nothing. And I bet you wouldn't have near the problems you do.

I liked this game because it had free dlc daily. Kids just need to learn not to be complete douchebags and respect others work.

@Phat: It may just be me, but as i said, people should be happy with what they get and dont complain too much, its really like Mason said, that people expect more and more over the years, and I think a saf is enough at the first place.
Anyway, after all that ripping, i have to be honest, the community doesnt deserve the Template so soon, hate me because of that, but its my opinion, and i can live with it.

@barrington: I wont argue with you about that cause we will never come to a point, and anyway the model IS released, you must have missed that. And I think the immature people you re talking about isnt really your deal, cause the people I am really talking to, never released a single thing! just to make things clear. The people who ripped stuff are people i usually never talk to, and if i do, then just because I dont wanna get called out like: "Andy is an arrogant prick, he doesnt even talk to me".

I just dont understand how your stuff got leaked and ripped so fast to begin with. You obviously have a mole in your group of friends. No it doesnt make it right. But hopefully you have learned who you can and cant trust.
As far as the model being released, I was only aware of JVDLs skins or whatever and a couple others more recently. Me personally Im not too into those kind of things. I like to see peoples personal skins, not 10 people riding the same bike. Sounds greedy maybe but I think it just looks silly. Have you made a stock looking 2013? I guess that would make more sense to see 10 of out on the track. But thats just my opinion. Wont please everyone no matter what you do. Ive learned that with tracks.

well, the first time it happened was, i have to admit probably my fault, i gave out a the very first beta to a guy i thought i could trust, i dont wanna drag anyone in this now, cause you know who you are
well but everything after that were ripped team bikes, like ours and spazztic's, and after that it never really stopped.
anyway, there are enough public bikes of the kawi so far, just for example the 60seven Bike, and there gonna be more bikes as soon as Aaron is done with them and his fb page 60Seven Designs reaches 700 likes.

thanks to him and yFMX at this point!

So typical. A trackmaker knows nothing about what's going on with models, and vice versa. :)
There is already a stock skin just waiting for the kawi release.
Fully agree with barrington about custom skins, though.

So many directions to take this... mostly with a grain of salt if you're sensitive or seriously think this is a good idea.

1. I guess first we should all be happy JLV didn't hold the 250s and 450s for ransom like this group of modellers wants to do with their stuff. Especially considering it's content that is functional in the game, and not just pretty shapes and stickers.

2. If anyone has firm ground to stand on with the hostage content standoff, it's track makers. You can run JLV's stock models, and all of the OG's models that have been released (and free I might add!) to date and have the same exact experience save for the front fender. You can't, however, play the stock tracks over and over and get new game play. I sure hope the track makers don't get wise to how much we owe them.

3. Why on earth would anyone pay for a new YZ125? It hasn't changed in the time since the game was created, and we already have a pretty YZ model. Ask me for donations to get a new YZ modelled IRL and we might have a conversation, but a new release of the same old bike? no thank you...

I hope this thread gets buried before people who contribute things we really use (think 2014 dynos; tracks for replica, AX, WI and local series; new dab physics; even this new safer saffer...) catch on. I think long before we start raising funds to get models we ought to consider paying something for the next snapshot and the next season of race tracks.

In the mean time, why not put the new .saf format on kickstarter and see how committed these guys are to their own ideas?

Compelling stuff! Most coherent discussion I've seen in here for a while. With a few exceptions.

1. Ransom? Ransom - "A sum of money or other payment demanded or paid for the release of a prisoner". Last I knew donating isn't demanding, it's a choice. Not forced. Not only that but ransom is usually something that is takin from you, did we take a yz 125 model from you? Didn't think so.

2. Track creators can do the same thing, more power to them. No one owes anyone anything other than respect, which has not been given in the last how many months, hence why we are in the discussion that we are in.

3. Don't donate if you don't want to, its a choice.

I would be more than willing to donate for a new saf format. As would probably 99% of the creators. Im all for public stock free releases but to me source files should have to be bought. That is just my opinion though.

Ease up there killer. This thread is filled with creators saying no big deal release it all. The people asking for a secure file format are actually the minority, 10 people at max by my guesstimate.

I could understand if you were getting scammed out of money, Mason, but at the end of the day what actual physical harm is it doing if someone rips your stuff? I know it would suck, seriously, I wish we didnt even have to discuss it. But its inevitable. Look at the music industry.
