Bad framerate?
I just got BF4 beta so i updated to the newest Nvidia Beta drivers, and idk if thats the case but seems like since i first played BF4 im getting rreally bad frame lag.
On any track even super low impact tracks my game will show 59-60 FPS (vsync), and almost a solid 125 (w/o) but theres no way. theres so much skipping and is making it feel unplayable.
Would the driver update cause that? and i dont think my GPU is damaged because it still runs my steam games and BF4 solid at 60. Wondering what changed

Have you tried reverting to the driver version that worked?

@jlv
switched back to old drivers and sim works flawlessly. But BF4 is unplayable without the beta drivers. even the new stable drivers dont work correctly. Any reason why the beta drivers make sim act up?

Re: Bad framerate?
The answer should be in the release notes, but I don't have time to read through them right now.
331.40: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/3 ... -notes.pdf
327.23 WHQL: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/3 ... -notes.pdf
What version did you go back to?

Re: Bad framerate?
Went back to 310.90. i need 331.40 for BF4. But 331.40 and 327.23 make my sim laggy.

Try adding --glfinish to the command line args.

Re: Bad framerate?
sadly that didnt work.jlv wrote:Try adding --glfinish to the command line args.
Its pretty bad. ive never had anything like this before.
Only 1 of these 4 drivers i tried worked.

And the one that i know DOES work, is pretty damn old.

i tried 320.18 because i was seeing if even a halfway step would still be a newer driver, but work, and im only having luck with 310.90

Re: Bad framerate?
i have tried changing texture rendering modes (doesnt make a difference), and ended up turning VSYNC off.
it brought me up to 124-125 FPS but the stuttering is still there, but i think the higher frames mask it ALOT. i never had frame rate issues and am always using VSYNC with a constant 60FPS normally, and i would much prefer to run VSYNC on to prevent tearing.
Right now it is playable with VSYNC off, but like i said id like not to have to keep it that way as i can still see the small stuttering just not as prominent as it was before. (aka problem still not solved, just worked around).. hmmm.

Re: Bad framerate?
Does it stop stuttering if you turn "ground texture levels" all the way down and restart the game?

Re: Bad framerate?
VSYNC OFF:

with these settings. not even loading much.

VSYNC ON:

Fraps never shows it dip below 124-125 and 59-60 with VSYNC off/on respectively.
and this is with software just for shits and gigs.

Re: Bad framerate?
Turn record demos off helps stop frame skips for me
