Colors don't work in photoshop cs6

Post by Targus »

Everytime I try to select a color errors come up reading "out of gamut for printing" and "not a web safe color", and then the color I picked turns to a shade of gray. I've tried everything to fix this incuding re-installing photoshop but nothing seems to do the trick. How can I fix this?

Make sure your "File, New" is not in greyscale mode and looks like this.

That took care of my problem for a couple minutes but it seems to switch back to grayscale after a couple layers have been made

hmm, I'm not on my computer atm, but when I do I can look for some other dumb setting you may have missed. The only other thing you can check is the mode it is in. Don't remember exactly how to get to it though. Its mode in one of the top columns.

Go Image > Mode. Make sure it is still on RGB. (or atleast not on greyscale)
