How to lock your ping
Hey everybody I was wondering if there was any way to lock your ping in multilayer. Thanks.
Re: How to lock your ping
You're ping is based on your internet speed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping_(networking_utility)
So no, there's no way to lock your ping.

I thought it was to do with the distance from the server host you are?Robert196 wrote:You're ping is based on your internet speed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping_(networking_utility)

Re: How to lock your ping
Yes, the distance + your internet speed. If you are downloading or have a lot of users on your network your ping will be higher. When I connected to Netherlands servers I get a ping of 20-30ms if I connect to the stock track server in NA I will get a ping of 110-130ms. But when I am downloading I could get pings of 200 - 300ms very quick.MX181 wrote:I thought it was to do with the distance from the server host you are?Robert196 wrote:You're ping is based on your internet speed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping_(networking_utility)

Lower is better, yes. Anything below 120 is good in my opinion.Atom6246 wrote:Soo whats a good ping? Mine stays around 70 but I have almost 30mbs high speed internet. Lower is better?

Or you can hide it by typing /toggle ping and it should hide it
