Re: 2015-02-01 snapshot
one thing that NEEDS to fixed but the time it takes to go invisible. During a race you crash, and trying to get up someone hits you, by this time you're invisible, getting dragged, race over.

Re: 2015-02-01 snapshot
That's something I can easily tune, but it needs to be pretty low to keep the griefers under control.

That's a server setting.Norcal_51 wrote:one thing that NEEDS to fixed but the time it takes to go invisible. During a race you crash, and trying to get up someone hits you, by this time you're invisible, getting dragged, race over.

Try letting it through your firewall again.

Re: 2015-02-01 snapshot
Any plans to work on collisions? With physics so sensitive, it makes it very easy to bump into someone and crash. Also falloff time. Seems about 10 seconds to remount. It would make for better racing and less carnage if people weren't on their face for so long, causing huge pile ups. Either way , good to see an update.

Re: 2015-02-01 snapshot
Yes, the demo rewrite is actually part of the new collisions. The new demo/prediction code should make it easier for me to make the net bikes go "live" and respond to the collision when you hit them instead of waiting for the collision response to happen over the network.

Re: 2015-02-01 snapshot
What about erode online for funsies? Someone's probably asked before but I've always wondered if it would be possible to just have it as an option to turn on in private servers. Even if I get 30 fps with 2 people I could still have a blast.

Online erode is going to take a fair amount of work. Keeping everyone in sync without using tons of bandwidth is going to be challenging.tyskorn wrote:What about erode online for funsies? Re: 2015-02-01 snapshot
Oh you know what it may be, it doesn't overwrite default00, 01,02, etc. It only overwrites the original default demo file. So unless you go in and delete the default00-default09, it doesn't really save the past 10 demos. Not sure if that's something that can be changed or not.jlv wrote:That setting should stick. It's "demo_backups" in the config file.

Re: 2015-02-01 snapshot
It's supposed to rename default.mxdemo to default00.mxdemo, default00.mxdemo to default01.mxdemo and so on. If it's not doing that you've discovered a bug.

Re: 2015-02-01 snapshot
Correct, but once it get's to ten defaults, it stops backing up 10 demos and goes back to only overwriting the first default and not the rest. I can go into the demos folder and delete the demos, default01 and so on, and it will back up ten demos again, but it doesn't overwrite any defaults with a number after it.

Re: 2015-02-01 snapshot
I noticed that about the demos too. Didn't think to mention it though. There was a fun race over the weekend that tried to do a 20 minute plus x lap moto. I don't remember the amount of laps. One or two. Anyways, the checkered flag never came out. The white flag came out, but it never got to the checkered flag.
Re: 2015-02-01 snapshot
Try this for the demos not overwriting:
http://mxsimulator.com/snapshots/mx-2015-02-17-1242.exe
http://mxsimulator.com/snapshots/mx-2015-02-17-1242.exe
If you have a demo I'd like to see it. Otherwise I have no idea what happened.tyskorn wrote:I noticed that about the demos too. Didn't think to mention it though.
