Real wind "physics"

Post by John23 »

I think it would be cool to add a wind physics. Maybe when you are riding, the gear is flapping in the wind like real life. Maybe in the future add some big random wind gusts that would blow you to the side (that's what she said) every now and then.

I don't know if I would appreciate this or not. Maybe as an option in single player. I think it'd be difficult to code, not moving you around in the air but the gear flapping in the wind. It might not handle too well on less powerful computers.

I'd imagine you'd just run it as a single animation, not something that is constantly changing and is always different. Although, I'm sure it's much easier said than done.

I'd hate the random wind gusts because there'd be no way to tell if there's any wind at all until you're in the air.

The hard part is that in real life you feel it, here you just get screwed over by an invisible force. This idea hit me 2 days ago but I didn't stick to it. The only time I think it reaally affects you is in jumps.

Maybe for people using controllers a little vibrate? That wouldn't be too hard to do. But people on keyboard are screwed (yes I know people that still use keyboard  )

The controllers don't vibrate with MXS. That would be a cool feature, though!

No, it doesn't. But I don't think it'd be too hard to make a script that connects MXS to whatever program that the player uses to connect the controller to the PC. Once MXS connects to the controller software, there could be a little box that can be checked on or off allowing controller vibrations. Just a thought, probably made no sense whatsoever

Yeah thats a good idea...Every time it vibrates, it also pushes you according to the direction...

Yeah depending on which side has the stronger vibration. I still wouldn't want to see this implemented unless it is a toggle feature.
