Re: YOUR SETUP
yzmxer608, can i try one of your 250 2 stroke setups? Can't seem to get comfortable with any of the 250 2 strokes, no matter what setup i've tried so far. The front forks bottom out on almost every face of a jump, unless i put everything on a 100. Weird, because i don't need to put everything on a 100 for 450s not to bottom out, even though it's heavier and faster.......yzmxer608 wrote:Why do you say that? Just wondering what the new collisions makes it do that it doesn't with the current. When I tested them I didn't have any adverse effects from it.Racers52 wrote:I have a setup that Peter Leik and I have been working on but I think it will be broken if jlv updates collisions before outdoors.

Replying so I don't forget, but I won't be able to post them until tonight.
Do you mean for MX? A rule of thumb I've found is most 450 setups work pretty good on the 250 when you add 5 to the fork compression and spring rate. After that the setup feels pretty comparable between the two bikes. I was using a setup that had 75 fork compression and spring rate and it actually felt pretty good, but I tried the setup I used for Thunder Valley last year (was riding a 450) and felt better (I think it resulted in a 90 compression and spring rate up front). I'll post both tonight.

Re: YOUR SETUP
Do you have some for both MX and SX? The bottoming out is even worst for SX. I don't really have a choice but to run ridiculously stiff front forks for 250 2 strokes on SX tracks, unless it's going to be really inconsistent in rhythm sections. For 450's, i just put spring rate and some others on 90 and rarely bottom out. You'd think a 250 2 stroke wouldn't need a stiffer front than a heavier and faster bike, but for reason it does.... It should be fine around 75-80 spring, comp, rebound, but it's awful. Maybe the 450 rider and 250t rider weigh differently? That's the only thing that could make sense.yzmxer608 wrote:Replying so I don't forget, but I won't be able to post them until tonight.

Re: YOUR SETUP
My 250 MX suspension I've been working on. I'm still testing, but I've gotten it down to single digit adjustments now. Really pleased with it so far, dropped my laptimes on a lot of tracks with it. I've always never thought suspension was a huge deal, and normally I just stole suspension setups from the forums, but learning what everything does and testing different settings can really help you. I realized that an amazing suspension setup for one person could be horrible for another. I'll post my setup, but try to learn how to make one yourself, it really helps, trust me.hondaboy547 wrote:looking for a good mx suspention set up
Fun Fact: I did all my testing on multiple outdoor tracks, didn't ride SX at all with it. Went in 03, forgot to switch suspension setups, and ran a bunch of personal best laps. Ended up liking it so much in SX that I ditched my old 250 SX setup, now I use it for both SX and MX. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing....Just kinda ended up working on SX even though I did zero testing on it xD
