I know you planned on making stuff that uses the shaders and friction, as well as fixing up the FBO code and adding rider shadows, but any ideas to what you may do after that? I can't think of anything you may do, other than ragdoll physics, or playing with sounds again
Aside from what you mentioned, here's what I can think of:
- Better stabilization. I have a couple of ideas that I want to try.
- Stand alone track editor.
- Variable resolution in the height field so you can define fine detail without blowing tons of memory.
- Randomly generated terrain outside the field. Or possibly multiple height fields modifying a huge random terrain.
- Multithreaded ray tracing renderer if Larrabee becomes popular.
I just have two that are a more important at this point than added features.

1- know its been said but the personal folder needs redone because right now it is a major headache, we need folders for bikes, riders, tracks, for those that do modelling, skinning and pretty much all creation it gets annoying trying to find all your files amidst 300 files of stuff, and to me it would make sense to do this before you get too far with code and stuff or else it might be hard to implement later.
2- Again i know this has been said before but a new menu system is a must, i would rather have that at this point than any other feature, its a joke trying to figure out what track is what, and what skin your picking. there are some guys around here that are very talented with gui and i dont think it would hurt to let them help with implementing a new gui. I really think this game needs the new gui especailly if you want more people to come to this game. Its only going to get worse with more bikes tracks skins in general if there isnt some improvements in these two areas.

Would it be possible to include a preview pick with each track that would show up in-game? I think that would be really cool. Have the track list on the left side of the screen and a picture window on the right side of the screen. I dont know how hard it would be to do but it doesnt seem to difficult. Just have a preview.png in the track folder or whatever.

We need an option to change number fonts. just like bike or rider naming EX. numbers-whateverhere.png, numbers-condensed-whateverhere.png
it doesn't seem like it would be hard to do and i would improve the game a bit because in real life u dont see every one with the same number style so it would be cool to get in the next snapshot.

1) As most skins and models are safed, you can place them anywhere you want without messing up their file path.

So I had an idea that seems easy enough while I was running an online event today.

Why not have more than one demo file to write to...
My problem is that if you don't save the demo before you start a new race, or before those crazy bastards online restart, it is lost forever.

1) We could alternate writing to different files *default.mxdemo* and *alt.mxdemo* With alternating between 2, you could start a new race, and still save the previous races demo, and you still wouldn't pile up demo files, because your 3rd race would write over default.mxdemo.

2)If that is to complicated (I would think a looping code would work but I only have a tiny bit on programming language under my belt, and I could see how it might create a problem), then just have the game start at writing *default1.mxdemo* then your next race *default2.mxdemo* and so on until you quit the game...

Each time you start the game it starts with overwriting default1.mxdemo so you have all the races you have run in a game session saved, although people may do 50 races at one time, i'm not really sure, most I do in a row is probably like 10 maybe 15 maximum.

Kind Regards
i agree that there should be a higher speed and maybe a button to stick the leg out so that when you are in the air you could do some one footed whips

Don't flame me to bad, I feel like tear offs would be cheesy, and annoying. Just my thoughts on it.

I'd like a roost image that sticks to the camera, and either fades after a while, or you use a tearoff to get rid of it
