Exactly... so they sell it because people like you dont appreciate what they do. Theyre not wasting time when theyre making money doing what they like to do.ant40c wrote: But let's be real. Re: Where has the great community gone...
Or i can still make it, because i want it for myself, and after I've made it, i can just be totally selfish and just keep it for MYSELF only, or i can sell it for a fraction of its value determined by time spent creating it, and I can make some side money to take to the casino, for a weekend, and enjoy myself, without having to spend money that i slaved for at my job.
The good news however, ANYTHING that ANYONE in this community is selling, you could make your own version of! So no need to complain when others don't give out THEIR hard work, because you can just put in the time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears just like other creators do as well and make your very own thing just how you want it!

It was great for those who consumed the content that was free...mxsrider96 wrote:The m121c back then released stuff for free for example
No one see's it from the side of the ones who actually made the content. Things have never been "great".

I wonder why none of those guys (or at least very few) are still around. Creators are the battered women of MXS.m121c wrote:It was great for those who consumed the content that was free...mxsrider96 wrote:The m121c back then released stuff for free for example

I really hope you both know that I was just kidding. I completely support Mason selling his Honda and any bikes or other models he may make in the future. Hell, if it weren't for the fact that I can't skin, I would've been one of the first buyers of the Honda

See thats the thing. Everyone thinks about their gains now. Not like the old days. They are out for themselves. I used to do small things and release it and it didn't bother me because people enjoyed it and I got to see people using it in multiplayer. If you think you have to make people pay, then go work for Nordic or EA.

And I'm mainly talking about the outdoor tracks this year. I understand selling models and shit, but not for $100 or something stupid expensive like that.

Re: Where has the great community gone...
Mason spent countless hours on the Honda. I remember someone doing the math with a guess of how many hours he spent on it and the hourly wage, if he charged $100, was EXTREMELY low. $100 is very reasonable when you consider it is one of - if not the best - models in the game, and it's way better and more detailed than anything Nordic is going to produce. And it's the same with the outdoor guys. They're spending a lot of time making the tracks so that the guys who pay can have a series and the guys who don't pay can still have awesome new tracks. All the time they're spending and have spent, they are definitely deserving of a little compensation and in my mind, $25 per rider is WAY low
