Unless you plan to ride stock tracks forever then this definetly wont cut it. Your best bet is to get a desktop whether you build or you buy a prebuilt it will be alot more bang for your buck. Basically in comparison you could build a desktop for $500 and it would be as good as an $1200 laptop.

Like I said if you plan to race stock tracks or maybe if your lucky some sx/nationals tracks with a very low amount of people and low graphics those will work. But if your looking to race the RF races with 40 man gates and so on then something like this is what is required.

P.S: You can get a smaller screen version of those specs to save some $$$. I just wanted to find one that had the main specs that you would need

Hopefully I'm not to late. What your issue is not what you are in the market for its where you are looking. Granted he is correct in saying that a laptop is far more expensive than a desktop looking for one at bestBuy is basically paying $150 more than you should. I always look at NewEgg before going anywhere else. Here are a quick 4 I found that aren't the most powerful but in your budget and needs I think you would be able to make it just fine. I tried to keep most of the things you found in your first link such as screen size but overall the dedicated card is what your laptop choices lacked. There are other options on NewEgg that are cheaper if this is to much but i'd recommend these, I kept a variety to try and suit whatever but the final choice is yours. If you have anymore questions I'll be gone to LL next two days but I'm sure someone else can help in the meantime or if not I'll check back. :)

I've got pretty much the same exact specs as those laptops and i run rf nats with graphics maxed out, besides shaders, reflections, lens flares and roost, but i also have a desktop. Does that mean that desktops generally run faster?

Desktops almost always run faster. Mostly cause of the graphics and subsystem.
