Everytime you post something stupid, a baby gets punched in the face. Please be smart, for the children.

How did you get the track so white. Even when I use pure white in my shading.ppm, it only makes it slightly lighter brown

Make a lighter dirt texture and modify texturelist to use it instead of dirt.ppm.

What size do the textures need to be. And do you reckon you could upload the dirt and grass textures so we can make joining textures for our personal textures. Thanks
Oh, and what is the dirt-alt1.ppm file?

The original is 512x512 but as long as the width and height are both powers of 2 it should be ok. Also, you want the texture to tile at 1/16 and 15/16. So if you're using 512x512, you want the center 448x448 area to tile with itself. I'll upload the original textures, but I'm planning on a completely different method of terrain texturing soon so you may not want to bother putting a lot of effort into making joint textures.
The alt1 texture is similar but not identical texture that is randomly mixed in to make the repeating texture a little less obvious.
