Prerelease 5 is out

Get it here

Changes since Preview 4:

* Points series.
* Fixed antilock bug.
* Adjustable auto clutch RPMs.
* Now uses png format for bike textures.
* Better handling when dabbing.
* Rear wheel counter-torque models a chain drive more closely for more realistic rear suspension action.

but why the editor mx.exe doesnt work in the new version?

the bike appears white and the rider too :S

It's because the rider/bike textures are now png. The old mx.exe is looking for ppm textures. Just download the new mx.exe (should be "2008-02-29 snapshot" when you run it) and it should find them. If you have any custom skins you'll have to convert them to png.

Where is the new exe? When i go onto the ditors propeties, it doesnt let me change the thing you change to to --editor at the end. Help?

So whats the go with the Points Series. When I click it, all I get is Next Page or Back to Main Menu, and both take me back to the main menu. How do you get it to work?

Do you have the datafile (zzzz.saf) from pre5? It should be 36681333 bytes.

Oh, silly me, lol. I only put the editor thing in, didnt actually download the new version.

I do have zzzz.saf but what do i do with it? What does that have to do with the MX editor not being able to change to --editor and it being all white.

You shouldn't have to do anything to zzzz.saf. The installer should have put it in the right place.

You mean you ran the pre5 installer and now the bikes and riders are white?

As for the shortcut, I don't know why you can't modify the shortcut target. Maybe you aren't in the right tab?

jlv, i need ur help, i have made a graphics kit on paint shop pro 9 and saved it as a png file and put it in my personal folder. it doesnt work ingame, how come?

If your kits aren't in .saf form, then you have to save them in your MXS Program Files folder.

C:\Program Files\MX Simulator

and make sure the filename is this format

[bike]-[title of skin].png

what? no you don't.
my program files mx sim folder is empty except for .exes and zzzz.saf
