i know you have all heard this one before lol
but ill make it quick i followed the tutorial on how to do it but after i done everything i start up the server then i try to connect and my friend tried and it just says "contacting server"

Set it to UDP port 19800.

yeah done that but still have probs i made it to 19800-19800
and the default protocol timeout is 600 and also what is the
map to host port and under applications i chose private server
or do i choose
irc server insted of
pptp server?

Map to host port probably lets you rewrite the port number so you can make it look like it's using a different port externally. You don't need that so leave the default.
For the application type leave it set to "None" like it recommends.

hmm i guess it wasn't fixed new problem! can go onto the server but when my friend tried he had this problem

i don't know why it happened it came up in warm up mode because i was in a single player race which is normal but froze and just said contacting server?
and for some reason he didn't start at the starting gates in warm up mode?

Are you sure your friend trying to connect to the correct address? It will be different than the address you use if you're behind the router.

Forgot to add, he should also try adding the port at the end of the ip in-game.

ok more trouble my friend tried my ip from ipchicken it didn't work
then we tried ***.***.***.**:19800
like that
but *=numbers
then i tried all the others again and tried subnet mask or something and then the program started saying it's lazy?
