ping issue

I've been having a problem with ping lately. I can go online and ride around in warmup at constant 0 ping and offset jumping around in the single digits. Then once I get into the race my ping shoots through the roof. I'm wondering if this change is normal. I've never had problems until just recently, and nothing in my setup has changed. It's very frustrating for everyone involved because I keep crashing with others who can't see me. Is there anything that I can check that may be causing this high ping? Like I said, internet connection is the same as it has been, I haven't seen anything different outside of MXS, and I've never had any lag issues before. Thanks for any help you can offer.

The ping will always be 0 in warmup/spec mode. As for the main question, I don't know why your ping went up.

Your ping is always 0 in warmup because your computer is only downloading data from the server and not sending any information.

Contact your ISP. They quality of your connection has went all to hell.

Are you behind a router? Try unhooking it and see if that fixes it, that's where I would start.

Run an internet speed test to Chicago (I think I heard the server is in that area somewhere) and see if your speeds are normal there. Perhaps there is something causing an outage in internet service between you and the server (flood?) causing your connection to be rerouted several times.
