1st person all the way.
Don't understand people riding a simulator in 3rd person, it makes no sense to me.

A ton of the really fast guys use 3rd, it just depends on what you're used to and more comftorable with.

I think 3rd person is just a carryover from MXvATV where the first person cam is horrible ie: no view of bike or bars. (I don't know if this has changed in recent editions, last I played was unleashed)

First person allows for much more precise front wheel placement. It def is easier to get taken out in 1st person and not even know who to take revenge upon, however.

I just find it easier to ride in 3rd person, firstly because its a game,so I can't feel the bike,so at least I have to see it.. In first person you can't feel or see what your bike rear is doing.
There is some pros and cons on both things, like you can see ruts better in first person and you can't as good in 3rd. Plus I play with keyboard so I'm powersliding pretty much on every corner, that's why I have to see my rear wheels..
So don't be bitchin.

You obviously don't know how to ride in 1st person then. I throw big whips all the time, and from a 1st person view they look way more awesome than from 3rd person.

That's probably true, although I used to play 1st person all the time but something got in to me.

I don't understand what you guys are talking about when you can't feel the bike. Obviously you can't feel it but I know exactly what the bike is doing all the time :?.

I think I would be a 3rd person rider if I hit the tab button sooner :D But since I learned how to play this game in 1st it's what im comfortable with. But I think if I took the time to learn how to ride in 3rd person I'd be decent, or maybe by some miracle I'd be even faster than I am with 1st, but I'm not patient enough to try.

I was just kidding - but I just can't ride in 1st person.. When i started playing I rode in 3rd person - therefore I haven't really tried 1st person in this game..

Is 1st person easier with a controller? Im terrible with a keyboard on 1st, so that's why I use 3rd.

1st person, it's a sim guys! come on! ;) . And yeah, my trusty microsoft joystick probably helps the whole 1st person thing. Throttle is still on or off mind, and i tend to know where the rear of the bike is :S.

If you get the camera setup right, i've got a 130* field of view, ypu always know where people are around you. Also, you can HEAR them ha ha. the 4 stroke thump is easily audible over the whine of the rm125. it'd be interesting if he could make a view where the head stays flat roll wise, and the bike moves around it (like the video in that superbike game over in JLV's sound thread).

A level-headed first-person camera might help the dizzying effect, but then it would be very difficult to know how far over the bike is leaned over (unless you want to have the lean indicators turned on). I guess it would be an okay option, but I would still prefer it as is.
