Re: Videos
that video was actually pretty cool, but it would of been alot better if you disabled your hud and pause.

Re: Videos
Nice song choice, and pretty nice video. You are improving.
Here is my only advice. I am not a big fan of the Screen Ratio you are choosing. I am guessing you are using WMM ( never used before ), so not sure if you can change the screen ratio. It is as if it is just a small square that barely shows what is going on in the video. I think this will help show the rider more. I wanted more out of the clips, which could have easily been fixed by a better ratio something like 16:9 widescreen works wonders. I would also suggest More CC ( color correction ).
U don't have to do these things I am pointing out. Just trying to give you advice from my perspective.

Re: Videos
Appreciate it Jeff and I am very open to any suggestions and constructive criticism that I get to improve. I use Corel Video Studio Pro X4 (I think Windows MM is shit). Ill make more corrections to it and add the instrumental version to it (I was going to do it anywas before I made the video but for some reason I went with the song so ill just let that one be the one to send to VMG). Jeff ill check in to the screen ratio preferences and the CC and see how it turns out. Thanks for any advice once again.motoxjeff#7 wrote:Nice song choice, and pretty nice video. You are improving.

Hey, thanks for the feedback.motoxjeff#7 wrote:Yowzers at the FOV. Lower it a bit. Also wondering why you would edit the whole video with After Effects. Especially seeing as there was no real noticeable CC or effects in there. Not a bad video tho.
FOV was hovering around 55 - 60. To my understanding, this translates to an average real life focal length, unless you were referring a specific part of the video where i blew out the Field of Vision. I used after effects to cut and edit just for practice, as I use after effects for compositing. Ironically, i wanted to focus on cinematography (camera angles and timing etc.), rather than any colour corrections or nasty cliche effects in this vid, so What's you opinion on the cinematography? Im interested to know

I still think your FOV was too high to look realistic, but it is whatever floats your boat.BoysenReed wrote:Hey, thanks for the feedback.motoxjeff#7 wrote:Yowzers at the FOV. Lower it a bit. You make no sense saying you was working on Cinematography as cinematography is the Art and technology of motion-picture photography. It involves the composition of a scene, lighting of the set and actors, choice of cameras, camera angle, and integration of special effects to achieve the photographic images desired by the director( creator )Cinematography focuses on relations between the individual shots and groups of shots that make up a scene to produce a film's effect. ( true definition so you know ).
Just so you know What you are stating makes no sense, and makes me wonder if you was talking out of your ass. Composite is simply your canvas, your placement of a project. Anyone who makes a screenshot, Painting, Video, Film etc etc works with composites.
IMO your video was average. The reason your FOV looks bad, is because all of your angles are too far away. If it was closer it may have looked better. I also do not recommend After Effects for a full length video. UNLESS you actually know what your doing threw out the entire project.
Re: Videos
Sony Vegas can not comprehend. Too difficult for me, I tried some effects, but no as you can see nothing special

So much that I could in Movie Maker

Re: Videos
Fair point on the FOV now that i look at the movie more and more. I'll keep this in mind for the next videoYou make no sense saying you was working on Cinematography as cinematography....Painting, Video, Film etc etc works with composites.

In regards to my wrong choice of words... by 'cinematography' I instead meant only:
the timing of each shot
continuity and flow of the shots
angle of each shot
distance camera sits away from object
Sorry for the sloppy word choice...

In regards to compositing and my previous use of After Effects, I hope it didnt seem like I was talking outta my ass, as my only other experience in After Effects was indeed a project whereby I dealt with multiple render passes from maya, layered and blended them ontop of one another, colour graded and colour corrected them. This process has been coined "Digital Compositing" as far as i know. I don't want to seem like i'm standing on my soapbox, but just thought i needed to clarify this :S
You seem have a lot of knowledge Jeff, I might get you to give constructive criticism on a future (non-MXS) project of mine if that is o.k with you? Thanks for your feedback, I do appreciate it

Haha, like it how the suspension reacts when it's set up good.
