2012 Supercross/Motocross discussion

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

I'm a Dungey fan too, but I would love to see Stewart win them all. I am convinced that he isn't riding as hard as he can, and that Dungey is.

I reckon Dungey has more in him. It's just a bit early in the season to take that sort of risk.

I guess so. There were a few times that I feel like he could have made the pass (like into the S turn after the camelback) relatively easily with a little bit of bumping around, but I don't know if that's his general nice guy racecraft or if he doesn't want to start a mess. Stewart just seemed to pull right away whenever Dungey was right on him and his posture was so relaxed that it just looked like he was going about 90%, except for the start.

Will Stewart be getting bonus money from Suzuki for all these wins or not, seeing as he's not signed a contract with them?

It seemed like Stewart was just riding in his comfort zone and then when ever Dungey tried to make a charge Stewart always had some extra speed to pull away again just enough to get a comfortable gap. Dungey really needs to make things happen on the first lap. Watching Stewarts helmet cams of the start, Dungey was ahead of him after the first corner in both motos but he let Stewart passed both times and then spent the next 35 minutes chasing him.

Stewart gets personal sponsor money (red bull, answer, nike, oakley...) but no suzuki money until 2013. He said the insurance for a bonus package on himself is ridiculous based on his last full season

I almost think Dungey might be letting Stewart past to try and pressure him into a mistake, but it's looking like that might not be a solid game plan after 2+ hours of insane pace and relatively few tiny mistakes...

I don't think Stewart will be getting Suzuki money next year either. Isn't the team fully funded by Yoshimura?

According to him, Yoshimura suzuki is just a name change for American Suzuki's race team. He said it's the same people, same building, everything. It's still the same name on the cheques, that he isn't getting this year :P

Ah yes, I forgot about that. Do you think the team/yoshimura are giving him bonus money then? If they're not then they've managed to play it amazingly well because they've got a rider winning all the races and getting loads of exposure and they're not even paying him :D

Soab_465, you're mostly correct except the name on the cheques is now Yoshimura as they took over the team from suzuki and so Yoshimura pay all the bills and wages.

We'll see from the GoPro. I'd bet it's a track worker like they just said it might be. Really sucks.

The track worker was already clear of stew and he wasn't aimed to go on the way inside rut.. Stewart's fault.
