Too Many New Topics!
Re: Too Many New Topics!
I think it could benefit the site, doing all of that would be a ton of work for you and JLV, but that's for you two to decide.

I'd say recruit someone who is already a moderator on another site. Like yzmxer608, or Wilson (is he? I think he is on another site), or even Messiah, but I doubt he would for here. But, not to be all "I'm right here" and all, but I did moderate a subforum on another site for a few years. Maybe I could be the "Off Topic mod".

*nudges voutare foward* Vote HIM! The future marine would keep em' in check.
Re: Too Many New Topics!
I don't think you can mod just certain sub forums, might be all or nothing. Wilson was a mod back at MGF.

He's only on for half the day. So basically he's only saving the world for a couple hours a day. The other 22 hours, there are people running crazy killing each other. It makes sense to have an American in here, or a Euro kid. That way, the world is saved from evil, as there will always be someone here.
(I dont know why, but I got that stupid Justin Timberlake and Madonna save the world song stuck in my head when I wrote that).

Re: Too Many New Topics!

I'd say yzmxer should be. Everything he says and does is "correct" and makes good decisions and is a mod at MX HQ

Re: Too Many New Topics!
Wow, thanks

I agree. You already know what your doing, unlike most of the rest of the community.

Do I know what I am doing moderating wise? Well, I've banned 6 people in my life. I think I'm doing better than DJ.
But I don't know. I have only moderated on the SMF forum engine. This is phpBB. So I wouldn't know how to do everything, but moderating itself isn't hard.

Re: Too Many New Topics!
What a bad topic. Isn't the idea of a forum to discuss things? There is no reason to complain about conversation going on.
The only reason to even complain is if someone is asking something covered in the FAQs or posting something that's on the same page.
Take it easy, guys.

Re: Too Many New Topics!
Well then I guess you missed things didn't you? We are complaining about the new topics covered in the FAQ, not people posting to much.

Re: Too Many New Topics!
Going back to the noobs. I don't really mind the ones that post 1 or 2 dumb questions, then they back off. It really bugs me when noobs just don't let up and when they finally understand something, they go around as if they know it all.
