Upcoming Models
Re: Upcoming Models
Thing with Sketchup is, you don't know how many polys it has (that I remember, was a while ago that I tried it out). Going by how it uses curves, I'm guessing a very high amount. I think using collision models as a wireframe based off of the actual model would be waay better than using spheres or any other shape. Not sure how hard that would be to do though.

Re: Upcoming Models
well ive been having trouble scaling the model in blender, but ive managed to change the sketchup file into an importable format for blender
if someone could have a crack at scalling it into mxs scale it would make it so much easier to finish and test the ramp.
plus ive found and downloaded a poly reduction utility so i could eventually run the model through and see the results.
if anybodys up to it heres the real dimentions:
height: 8ft 2inches
length: 23ft
width: 4ft
and the file:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?cmjzo2yh2zm
and to get the model into blender go to, import collada 1.40 , then find the file and click import and close

Re: Upcoming Models
i found that out when i imported the model into blender.Thing with Sketchup is, you don't know how many polys it has
about 62000 polys, but i was suprised when i decided to save it as blender file, only to find that the blender format turned it from 62000 to 180000

Re: Upcoming Models
You'd probably want to get that down to about 50 faces, 100 max
Re: Upcoming Models
ok i have one other idea, if i can bring the faces down under 50 ill send you the file

Re: Upcoming Models

Re: Upcoming Models
Two things yomo other than it looks pretty good. First, I already made a semi. That might save you some valuable skinning time. Second, you don't really need the floor under the canopy. Wasted faces.yomo wrote:Ok here is my first proper model...

Re: Upcoming Models
That looks sexy Luiz. The only thing I see is that the tree holder(clamp holder) is a little too large.
