How long does it take?

Post by Bigtyme07 »

Just wondering how long it took a lot of you guys to get a good handle on playing the game. It's probably one of the hardest games I've had to learn but I can tell it can be a ton of fun if you're good at it.

Just under 1 month in here and I'm still slow, but I have a few flashes of speed in there. Get to know every track, every turn, every bump, every line. Dial in sections and piece them together. Just turn lots of laps and practice, and if you are online just be aware have good track manners and you'll keep the faster riders happy.

about 2 weeks to get a hand of the game and in less than 2 months I was winning races at 01 and 03 (there were no "big names" and those servers) in less than 6 months I managed to qualify and score points at the pro class in GP series.

Bought it in November '09 and still can't qualify for an AM event. Guess it'll never happen.

Got the game in 2011 (i think) and I just recently started playing a lot more, so the past month or 2 I've picked up the pace a little bit. I'm still about 15 seconds off pro pace, but I haven't really tried qualifying for an amateur race or anything because I don't even understand how those work :P

If you want to be competitive against the top names then join them. I've been playing this game since early 09 and still cant find out setups that work. I can ride yes but i should have something by now that will at least be competitive against them yet i don't. This game is all that's left in motocross games that are worth buying yet its the most frustrating son of a bitch i have ever played in my life. You can get fast with the right set ups but i think that everything is just overdone when it comes to this game. No matter what though there will still be fast guys and slow guys no matter what changes are made to the game or setup. I've come to realize this over the years that its not what you know its who you know. I gave up racing in this game cause i don't stand a chance and i'm tired of searching for something i cant find. I rarely play anymore cause i cant even enjoy a lap anymore. Could be stuck in a rut with advanced and suspension but its not worth me smashing my controller into a thousand pieces because nothing makes sense. Shit even the spring rate calculator springs don't match this game like said. That's my rant at least in the end its the funnest worst game ever.

Click ''Order'' on the main page. Choose the version you want (WindowsOrLinux). Fill everything out. It costs $52.50 or 43.22€.
Don't give up to quick, the game is really fun when you get the hang off it :)

setup doesnt matter as much as you think, stock stability and suspension will do you fine. knowing people will help you but it wont make you pro

I watch you ride Jeremy and I say to myself he knows something that works well that most do not. It looks like you move fast but are very stable like no washing or slide outs. Bumps do not faze you and if you go over a rut no problem you keep riding. Give me a little tip a little help i just want to ride a bit faster without always washing or sliding out. Bumps kill me and maybe its the way i approach them. What do you ride for setup? If your willing to share it PM me so its not public and if it does not help then i know its me. Or even some helpful tips to better what i have. I know everyone kinda adapts to what they build but there must be something to help me out that i am missing each time i change numbers.Stock suspension is 50 everything whats stock stability? It would be nice to try someones that is fast just to see if its me adapting or not.
